God forbid people learn that Mullvad VPN accepts Bitcoin and generates a random number that cannot be connected to you! 😎
Nobody really cares if it is, Humans will always choose to do what they want to do if it’s within their own moral & ethical guidelines. Enjoy your VPNs, your Torrents & your IPTV services etc 😂
Better still - they will prosecute first and find out later. There is no restraint on a government body once they can abuse power.
Nobody know what is legal or illegal here. To Moraes yes, and he can imprison anyone without due process, but still dont exist any specific law about that.
It was clickable till last week in the iPhone settings, blocked 🙃

There are some serious rumors that the Supreme Court is discussing making it illegal to run a VPN in Brazil. Insane.
They are not even following the due process of law anymore if you say the wrong words. They just open an eternal investigation and arrest you, without even allowing access to its records. Not even a lawyer…
I know. I've read the news. It won't go on for too long, don't worry. This has happen many times and needs complete collaboration of the people or it will fail.
Fuck the Brazilian government and fuck all governments. The time for compliance is over. In this country I'm living in, it's become manditory to submit to iris biometrics. If I don't, then the government will restrict my travel and all governnent processes. My reaction to this? Fuck them I'm not complying.
Mullvad VPN. They accept bitcoin, don’t ask for your email and generates random user numbers, like a numbered bank account. Then you top up via bitcoin or other cryptos. They charge around 12 USD month, but the longer term you stay, the cheaper you get. Then you can use Mullvad Browser or Librewolf browser.

Pretty sure there is VPN implications in the Tik Tok bill too… might be wrong
I find it retarded that any govt would stop indirect communication. It's akin to being prevented from asking a friend to ask a friend. But here we are.
Non-compliance in the face of overreach is a show of patriotism, imo. The more we stop pledging allegiance to a flag or a government and start pledging allegiance to each other, the closer we’ll be to a more perfect union, wherever we are 🙌

I don't see how they could enforce it. I suppose they'd have to create a list of every website (worldwide) where a VPN could be accessed... and then try to block it. And even then, Starlink would still be accessible.

I suppose the Brazilian government could try to block access to that website.

You are joking right? I'll spell it out for you: right now the internet is serves by hundreds (thousands?) Of internet service providers. Dont like atnt? Go to sprint. Starlink is ONE SERVICE PROVIDER. A CENTRALIZED PROVIDER OF INTERNET COMMUNICATION. Musk is such a freedom fighter isn't he?

I believe the point is it is outside of the legal jurisdiction that the land based ISPs available to you.
They made it illegal to use WhatsApp through a VPN before. Who didn't comply would also be prosecuted. The same thing will happen to Twitter, so unless you have a great opsec and still want to risk it, it's a bad idea to use it. Brazil will need to migrate to nostr.
Unless you want to risk your opsec being great, you can do it. Any public profile like mine would be obvious to see we're not complying and be prosecuted. The fine for using telegram through VPNs was R$100k/day if I remember well.
Where I'm living new regulations require me to submit passport, id, address proof and then the phone company require me to have my photo taken by them......all just for a phone sim card. It's for my protection!🤡
He will reach out to any vpn provider with a brazilian base and demand all user data. If the companies don't comply they will be subject to heavy fines and imprisonment. Based in his latest judicial rant he my try to prosecute companies outside the brazilian jurisdiction as he is trying with Elon Musk.
Its really hard. One easy answer would be "just use Mulvad" as they get btc payment and don't have your data. But it is too expensive to many and bitcoin is still uncomfortable for most. Just a tiny % would actually use it, and I do not know how many customers Mulvad alone can service.
They can only block payment methods (the ones they can monitor)... Not sure if they could block on the anatel level... Not even the chinese can do this stuff afaik. Lots to learn from their dissidents if that's the case

if that happened in my country there would be riots
It's actually annoys me when a website blocks VPN/Tor access. I try changing my IP address a bunch to see if any of them will work and sometimes get through. 😂
