That’s a good chunk of training data
Does it contain Derek and the Devs?
That’s both terrifying and kind of impressive 😂
A 300TB archive really puts into perspective just how massive Spotify’s catalog has become—and how determined internet archivists can be 🤓🏴☠️

Damn. It's not lossless—still cool though.
No able to donate btc 🫤
See everyone is going to steal your music so might as well just give it away and ask for support in return.

But I bet Spotify stock keeps going up.

An idea:
Create a nsec and npub for every artist and by some kind of verification they eventually get access to their own nsec and zaps which they got via fountain.
Liberating the artist.
they seem to be looking for this kind of option, and call it 'high risk anonymous payment processor' - any ideas how to direct them?
answering myself: they accept btc but only on-chain, there is more information in that regard there
Lots of relevant discussion happening on this Hacker News thread, yet no mention of what’s happening here from what I’ve read. I haven’t chimed in yet. If any Nostriches want to engage I think it could be insightful. Could be a good time to introduce some folks to
@Stacker News in the process.

Incoming extremely good audio AIs.
It should! That's a #1 song.
that's what i was thinking lol. the next version of Suno is gonna be fantastic.
i like the idea... it would be hard to pull off though.
the ironic thing about spotify is that they used pirated music while they were in alpha stages, before they had licensing.
You can self host that with something like $10k of hardware.
#selfhosting #homelab
not bad. vibe code an app on shakespeare, publish all of the songs and call it a day.
I only found XMR address. Will have a look again
there's a problem with these payments, but you'll only see it going forward, yes you can cancel
tl:dr they don't care about this, imo because none pesters them enough
The funny part is that that's entirely doable. If I only need to scale it for myself and my grandma, then that sounds doable even with lookup/fulltext search DB.
Bring back self hosting! 🫡
Have you seen anyone indexing the archive? Because if it was indexed, it would be easy to create a "migrate off Spotify" script so you would only have to download 25gbs at a time vs the full archive.
Seems as that’s coming next. Anna’s Archive posted this in their initial statement.

idea for the "nsec to real artist-service":
- this service gives out a OTP to anyone who claims to be the real artist.
- the one artist who successfully publishes this OTP on his Spotify Account (i.e. via the profile description) is the winner.
Later: real artist with his given nsec changes his npub/nsec so it is truely private and the "nsec to real artist-service" is out of the loop for sure.
Absolutely unexpected
It's going to be a black Christmas for Spotify lol. Creator focused platforms like substack or V4v music all the way
Oh wow!
👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
If there at least was e-mail address to the artists, could send redeemable ecash by e-mail to them? Small sums for each anyway initially, but when artists see money coming...?
Yes, thats what i think too .
About the email: just wait for the next data breach 😂
My friend are blocked by their cell provider from accessing this link.
interesting...
When available through Spotstr? ;-)
When they release the mp3s 🤓
