Pubky.app is decentralized and truly permissionless. You can (and are encouragd to) run your own homeserver. You can then make up whatever rules you want. Also, Pubky.app provides a credible exit - I lost all of the media connected to my Primal account and can't even connect to the Blossom server to get it back. With a Pubky.app homeserver, that would never happen. Did you even read the T&Cs for the server you were signing up for? Pretty sure Primal didn't have any terms that said: "thou shall not speak honestly or promote real freedom technologies."

I can tell you're on Primal because I'm banned from their media server too. I can't see the PFPs, videos, or other media of Primal users (including my own PFP). Makes it easy to see who's on Primal and who isn't. (Using Amethyst now)

Because that site is for a company from Tether and requires an SMS to authenticate you. And now trashing on primal. Quite sus right from the beginning.

Because I'm using a different client (Amethyst) and relays now. It's a W for the Nostr protocol (decentralized) L for the Primal app I'm shocked that they'd ban me for promoting a different decentralized protocol. I assume they're threatened by pubky.app because it's obviously so much better than Nostr. I was a total Primal fanboy and promoter too. In their defense, I was being a little bit spammy, but I was also keeping it respectful. I actually gained a bunch of new followers, so I wasn't being super annoying or anything.

It doesn't require an SMS. You can also do a small zap or use an invite code. The point is to filter out the bots - to prove you're human. It's just another reason why it's better. Once that shady distro decides to be transparent about their funding sources and stop being an honeypot then I'll say good things about them. SMS are quite terrible for anyone at NOSTR, especially as phone numbers disappear after a few years. Didn't saw an option to zap, that would be a saner and fair practice. Why are you guys involved with Tether, how did that happen?⁵

I'm not affiliated with Pubky.app or their team. I'm just a decentralization maxi and I think Pubky has way more potential than Nostr. I just want freedom software to beat big tech. I have the same concerns about Tether funding, but there's several other awesome open source projects that also get funding from Tether (holepunch, keet.io etc.) That's the beauty of open source - it doesn't matter if Satan himself funded it - if the code is pure, you can trust it. Don't trust, verify. (Unfortunately, Primal's cache servers are closed source, so can't say the same about them. I used Primal because the UI/UX was superior - I WAS willing to make that trade off)

Seeing the note available on Primal now, but not earlier

I can no longer use the Primal app with my keys. I also can't access any content on the Primal media servers (including my own PFP). I'm posting this note from Amethyst (pretty solid client, BTW), and I can't upload any media because they use Primal's media server. Sure, I'm still here, but my overall Nostr user experience has been nerfed - for the crime of promoting alternative decentralized technologies.

Weird, I don't think we had this kind of problem before. We'll investigate and somebody from our team might reach out to troubleshoot.

I'd post screenshots to show the proof, but I can't even do that anymore. Even the one screenshot in my original post that worked has been removed. TLDR - My Primal app was totally nuked (It's deleted now). On Amethyst, all media hosted on the Primal/blossom media server won't display. I can't even upload media from Amethyst (to the Primal/Nostr blossom media server). My npub was completely shut off from any connection to/from any Primal app or media server (even when using Amethyst).

After a thorough investigation, we’ve found that there seems to be nothing wrong with your account. We can see many successful uploads from your account, including one from yesterday. You absolutely have not been banned from our system. With that being said, could you try logging in using another app? (Example sign in to Primal Web primal.net) Are the clock settings on your phone set to anything other than local time? If so, this could be triggering the issue.

If it was just a strange coincidence, then I sincerely apologize. I hate when people make unfounded accusations against small freedom software projects. Especially when it's due to tech tribalism / cultism. I've been using Primal and Amethyst (when Primal was having issues) for over a year. There were times when I had issues with Primal loading notifications etc., but never had it completely shut off and refuse to load anything. This time was different - it wouldn't load anything. I waited, restarted the phone, restarted the app etc. several times. Also, Amethyst behaved significantly different this time too, but only with the functionality that required Primal resources. The bottom line is that my npub was completely blocked from any Primal app or media server. Given the timing, the conclusion was pretty clear (to me at least). However, it's possible that I was incorrect and it was just a very strange coincidence. If that's truly the case, I sincerely apologize. Either way, I hope Primal and Nostr succeeds and the team and community flourishes. The Pure Vida message alone is valuable and commendable. I was even hoping to come check out the citadel next time I was in PR. I wouldn't have posted what I did if I wasn't confident. However, I accept that it could have been sone type of new glitch, at a very coincidental time (I was being pretty bold in promoting a protocol that understandably could be considered a "competitior"). Also, if Primal wanted to ban be, that's their perogative. They don't owe me anything - especially because I'm not even a paying user. My only "beef" was that it's inconsistent with the marketing messaging. Also, that it nerfed my experience beyond the Primal app (no effective credible exit). I really fo think Primal (and Nostr) is great and respect the Primal crew and "influencers." I'm really rooting for you guys and the Nostr protocol. However, I also think Nostr's lack of growth despite many years of opportunity is due to the fundamental limitations of the protocol. Pubky looks like it may solve these limitations and therefore I'm hoping it has a chance to be a real competitor to big tech.

Also, for the record, I uploaded two (small) images yesterday via NIP95 on Amethyst. All attempts via Primal blossom (the default in Amethyst) were blocked. So, it's not accurate to say I had "many successful uploads." I still can't see any media hosted on Primal servers while using Amethyst (PFPs, images, videos etc.). I'll let it go now, but I'm not convinced. I also concede the possibility that it's just a fluke.
