Because that site is for a company from Tether and requires an SMS to authenticate you.
And now trashing on primal.
Quite sus right from the beginning.

It doesn't require an SMS. You can also do a small zap or use an invite code.
The point is to filter out the bots - to prove you're human. It's just another reason why it's better.
You have a history of disengenuous argumentation, and this argument is no different.
> Quite sus
(Says the guy who wouldn't stop harassing the GrapheneOS team about the security flaws in OEM Android, that they don't even use)
Also, I can now see that you're using Primal (no PFP).
I thought you were a hardcore, no compromises open source privacy guy?
Using amethyst tonight, screenshot attached. Don't have a beef with primal, when it works, just like I'm willing to try out your app and see how it goes.
Maybe you got me confused with someone else, I'm just a normie.

Cool. Thanks for being open minded.
Once that shady distro decides to be transparent about their funding sources and stop being an honeypot then I'll say good things about them.
SMS are quite terrible for anyone at NOSTR, especially as phone numbers disappear after a few years.
Didn't saw an option to zap, that would be a saner and fair practice.
Why are you guys involved with Tether, how did that happen?⁵
I'm not affiliated with Pubky.app or their team. I'm just a decentralization maxi and I think Pubky has way more potential than Nostr.
I just want freedom software to beat big tech.
I have the same concerns about Tether funding, but there's several other awesome open source projects that also get funding from Tether (holepunch, keet.io etc.)
That's the beauty of open source - it doesn't matter if Satan himself funded it - if the code is pure, you can trust it.
Don't trust, verify.
(Unfortunately, Primal's cache servers are closed source, so can't say the same about them. I used Primal because the UI/UX was superior - I WAS willing to make that trade off)
Ok, all clear now.
You are on the right path and soul, rock on.
I owe the Primal team and the Nostr community an apology:
I've been shilling pubky.app hard recently and yesterday all my connections to the Primal app/services were cut off.
I, wrongfully, assumed that I was banned by Primal and I posted a couple of notes crying about it.
Turns out that Primal's IPs/DNS was recently categorized as "adult content" on DNS records. My DNS settings then blocked all Primal DNS, which blocked all access.
I sincerely apologize and feel terrible. I behaved in a way that I despise when others do it.
I hope you will accept my apology.
The Primal crew are legitimate legends (which is part of the reason I was so disappointed) and the Primal "influencers" are total chads and very inspirational.
I'm very sorry and deserve my embarrassment.
Keep crushing and ignore the retards (including me in this case)!
