That definitely helps! But I would also like comments and engagement/feedback. Sometimes I have no idea if people even look or like my posts π
so it's like should I keep posting? Or am I posting too much?
But maybe that's on me. Idk still figuring it out π
Tomorrow is National Night Out: a once-a-year event where communities across the U.S. gather on their blocks to connect, celebrate, and look out for each other.
I just heard about one from Jack, the first person I ever onboarded to #BitChat. Heβs starting his first year at UC Berkeley, and his neighborhoodβs hosting a block party.
It got me thinking⦠what if this day became National BitChat Day, too?
Itβs a day built exactly for neighbor-to-neighbor connection.
Front yards, grills, block parties. The ideal moment to talk local comms, off-grid tools, and digital sovereignty - casually, authentically, neighbor-to-neighbor.
If youβre attending a neighborhood gathering tomorrow, consider:
π¬ Getting your neighbors on BitChat
π‘ Helping folks understand that mesh + Bluetooth chat = resilience
π οΈ Offering a simple download (QR code or APK)
ποΈ Reframing it as βa tool for when you really need to reach each other and you'll wish you had when the grid goes downβ
Or better yet - host a mini gathering yourself.
Doesnβt have to be fancy. A few neighbors and a conversation can go a long way.
This is where tech adoption actually happens:
Not through ads, but through real life, trust, and shared context.
BitChat is more than a chat app. Itβs a trust tool. A backchannel. A bridge.
And this might be the perfect night to build those bridges.

Bonus tip: Not sure how to break the ice at the block party?
Show someone how to slap with a trout on BitChat.
If they donβt laugh, challenge them to a fish-slapping dance-off ππ»

Seriously.
Also help explain to artists and creators when they first join how to actually use Nostr.
There's no algorithms to boost them, they need to understand that it's about community building. Which they will prefer once they understand.

Thank you! π OK I will
I stacked hard in the bear so I can zap my fellow plebs in the bull
Iβm tryingggg

My current meh about nostr is that there is no way to know if you have been seen. I believe there are clients that allow some sort of feedback other than a like or a zap. I would like a 3rd option, one that would allow an op to know that I gave my time to read their post but does not give the impression that I thought it was worth a like or being zapped.
Yea. That's another problem: I can't tell if anyone even saw it so I can tell if the post was disliked.
On Twitter I see if 20 people saw it and if no one liked it I assume I should do less of that.
I don't want to keep spamming people things they don't want to see π

Very important
By content, you mean memes?

*including, but not limited to, memes.
I think with the βlegacyβ media they are geared toward creating systems of feedback that help creators βmonetiseβ quicker. I think that the mind shift with Nostr is to truly lean into βyou doing you.β Any sort of monetisation or signal via zaps is literally gold. Any signal you get then is trending towards pure. You canβt game it. You also canβt conclude that Nostr is an abyss because there were βno impressions.β People MUST be reading your notes but for whatever reason they decided no further action was needed. I am sure you already have figured this out, so, just keep doing you! π€
Thanks! Thats true. Like I said, still figuring it out. I think I like making challenges for myself, like draw/do something creative everyday. It really makes me appreciate the reactions I do get π
Fck yeah baby

@primal is it possible to add an external wallet ? Canβt use the built in one from Canada.
For sending zaps, I believe any wallet can be used.
More precisely: I use Phoenix wallet on Android for Lightning. I was able to send zaps in Nostr without going anywhere near the Primal wallet. Clicking the zap button takes me directly to Phoenix
For receiving, I ultimately had to use the Phoenix wallet
If you have a wallet that exposes an LNURL (xxx@yyy.zzz) then I think you can receive to that.
I dunno.
I have it set to not use primal wallet and in my profile I have my Wallet of Satoshi address that works with other nostr clients.
It prompts me to make a primal wallet but you cannot from Canada.
am on iPhone, also tried Phoenix wallet (I like it fine)
Incidentally, Wallet of Satoshi just brought out some new features.
