Their “Don’t Mess With Texas” slogan is utter bullshit. If you go to HEB you’ll feel like you teleported to India and didn’t realize it. Other than that, not much changed, except for me. This was my experience 15 years ago, in Houston. I used to walk to/from work (I don't drive). It was always adventurous. I remember one day someone in their car stopping, asking me if I needed a ride, lol

It does!!! Reminded me of DC, but you're right because it's more sprawling, like LA. Austin used to be this backwater town, with some hillbillies, Pappadeaux restaurant, Dell computers, and 6th Street. 😂 Now, it's more like California, or something. I dated a guy whose family was in the Klan, in high school, and we drove by the ole KKK hangout. It's been leveled and turned into a subdivision full of Latino yuppies. Which is ironically hilarious.
