There was a big story a few years ago about "Ghost Cities" where because the Chinese government doesn't let its citizens play with capitalist things like the stock market etc. everyone put their spare money into new homes. The population data seemed to indicated that China would easily fill them but they stayed empty. They then tried to explain this as people were choosing to go to university rather than straight into a job, so the home data was a couple of years adrift but they would come... They are still waiting and the housing economy bubble has well and truly popped now.

I've seen a lot of videos showing well known cities virtually empty at supposedly busy times but i have no way to validate the claim.
As for the ghost cities, they built far more homes and apartments than they needed for investment purposes and the market collapsed.
Life expectancy is not reliable.
It's very one sided due to millions and millions of death in wars.

I appreciate your insights on China. I’ve seen a few claims today that the population size (circa 1.4billion) stated today is on the high side. The ‘dissedent’ in the video claims nearer 500m and calculates to grow from 500m in 1950s to 1.4b today would have taken a huge birth rate from women. It looks to me like there was a huge birth rate (circa 5 children per woman) from 1950 to 1980s. So I think that gets you half of the growth. Just trying to reconcile with the one child policy.

First to your question. I have no idea what the actual population figure is. There are just a ton of Chinese people that’s all I know.
I would question how she is taking into account the sheer number of Chinese from the Mainland who have emigrated over the past 70 years. It’s a lot and they are all over the world. In every single country.
But again, I have no idea.
What I do know is this. She has come out over the past couple of years with YT videos making some wild claims all of which have been completely wrong. She’s all about the algo. All about engagement farming. If it works for her, then awesome.
