Why dont these transparency bros and thought leaders start with leading by example and set up 24/7 livestreams of their lives? They have nothing to hide, right?

"You have nothing to hide" = "You own nothing of value"
I wish I spoke whatever language this is, because the subtitles are so absurd I can barely believe that’s what he actually said
Yikes, bad take imho. Bitcoin doesn't ask you for any personal information to create a wallet. Doesn't ask you the reason you are sending Bitcoins or the recipients identity. Whatever bullshit youre putting on Bitcoin is the shitty way you have your life setup.
I guess most Bitcoiners still have a hard time to accept that Bitcoin as is, is part of the problem and not the solution. Without privacy by default, it will lead a supermajority of Bitcoin users into total surveillance.
Better to buy some Monero and if you have some need for a store of value atomic swap some of it into Bitcoin and back if you want to spend it as digital cash.
He means via the #Bitcoin ledger 📒 right? 🧡😊🍊💊🇦🇺🔥🌱

And just like that, lying and deceit becomes monopolized by the ruling class. Rules for thee, not for me. Expecting transparency from multinational organizations, NGOs and governments is like predicting the sun won’t come up tomorrow.
#Bitcoin is unware of KYC, but KYC + blockchain analytics can trace an individuals funds rather successfully. Of course, the user can always use #coinjoin to nueter these heuristics, effectively providing the same level of privacy as #Monero supposedly does. The real problem folks run into is the repatriation of mixed sats into the fiat system.
I wouldn't go as far as to say WEF/GreatReset wet dream, as #Bitcoin cannot be prevented from being spent within the #Bitcoin economy. When countries blacklist #Bitcoin, they only prevent it from being spent within their local fiat economy. This actually has the effect of sending the #Bitcoin to freeer markets.
Since Klaus/WEF has a socially and fiscally left-leaning view of things, a useful way to respond to their support of total transparency and no privacy is to be like: "Cool, cool. Imagine you happen to be gay in Saudi Arabia, or a Uyghur in China. Just trying to live your life, doing your own thing. You have nothing to hide, right? Total transparency is good, right?” image Because the funniest thing about socialist/left authoritarian viewpoints regarding transparency, is that fascist/right authoritarian viewpoints would love that too. It's the horseshoe theory of politics in action. And when you compare the socialist left to being fascist right, or the fascist right to being socialist left, it’s just funny to see their responses.
Lol yes…… but it’s more of a thought experiment. Worst case scenarios are always running in my mind. What if btc was a naval research lab project based on a darpa idea then turn into a nonprofit like tor?
I never understood why nazis are considered extreme right, to me they are as extreme left as any commies. All collectivists are.
They will be hiding everything to you, but you cant hide anything to them. I love the insanity of the #WEF. Nutjobs.
Bitcoin wont save us. We will die from a human made epidemic before we hit that point. - forced vaccinations next time. Or WW3. Or something new they will throw at us. #btc #lightning
It's so wild that the most movie villain person saying the most movie villain things in all of human history exists and people think it's a conspiracy theory.
Actually, you are completely right. As soon, as I will see every single dollar/eur/... whatever currency get and spent in state level, then we can talk about transparency of mine cash flow. Until that, fuck off.
They can only trace bitcoin movement from one address to another. Proving ownership is actually super difficult unless you disclose your addresses through KYC. So if you needed to have a private TX there isn't anything anyone can do to stop you from obtaining Bitcoin not attached to your identity.
This dude is 85 year old. He won’t be around for this new world. The hubris of these people is a lot to take in sometimes.

Looking forward to the total transparency of governments. If they have nothing to hide, then they shouldn't be afraid.

So Klaus, Mr. nothing to hide… Let’s start with letting us listen to all your phone calls, then you have to let us read all your emails, all your letters, all the websites you visit, then we need to check your bank accounts, your credit cards, and finally let’s see how much gold, jewels, art pieces you have in your homes… What? You don’t want us to do that?
Absolutely. Nothing and nobody is going to change that, no matter what. Bitcoin is completely transparent, and that's fine for now, but sooner or later people will realize that they don't want to broadcast their financial transactions publicly through Bitcoin. I think Epic Cash is the way forward for those who take care, total financial privacy is the basic human right.
Iris actually works nice, I like it. Look this is not about me trying to persuade you or anyone really about anything whatsoever. I could care less about it, but the point stands. Bitcoin is of no use when it comes to financial privacy. I had no idea about it when I first got into Bitcoin, thought that must be weird, to publish my financial transactions to everyone to see.
I've heard a guy recently, he sounded as he knew what he was talking about. he said that Bitcoin was intentionally designed to be 100% transparent, so that the guys like this one above and the rest would accept it. This is the most convincing explanation I've heard so far about it. So from that point of view I would say, if that's true, that was a smart decision. However, at some point this will come back as an issue for sure.
It’s an issue today for anyone paying attention. Also, during 2020 the 50% threshold was briefly broken… Bitcoin maxis conveniently don’t talk about this.
The key issue being - "Nothing to hide" from what? Who lays down the parameters of what is acceptable, outside of which keeping hidden would be the only alternative ?
I work for the government in a highly regarded European institution. Because I'm the kind of guy who speaks out about what I think is wrong, they went against the law by monitoring the video camera system of the offices, trying to use it against me. I won because I have nothing to hide, but I realized that these people can use this knowledge to hurt those they fear, perhaps someone who could jeopardize their leadership. At this point, I realized that no human should have this kind of power. It's merely a way to entrench one's position of power, and it becomes truly dangerous.

I have everything to hide. Probably the biggest lesson I’ve learned these last few years is to value my privacy as much as feasible as it is an integral part of my freedom! What pains me a lot is that I can’t get the message delivered to my 15yo son. He mocks me for trying to protect it…… I guess I’ll have to find another angle🤣

They were both and probably not sustainable. After world war 1, Germany was suppressed and constantly drained of money/goods by the winners of the war. People were starving. The communists who slaughtered millions of people in Russia and Ukraine were quickly gaining momentum. Many Germans were not forced into collectivism by the government but joined to fight their way out of the situation successfully. Hierarchies were accepted and success mattered in this goal oriented collective society. When you look at communist societies, people are depressed. Perceived effort matters. Success is often punished by peers. Hierarchies exist unofficially while the citizens have to say that everything is flat. Peoples lives get worse and worse over time. The more typical real world left stuff.
I think the best way to deal with him and similar authoritarians is simply to ignore him, not to give him any reactions to his pure provocations. I don't care what he thinks about anything really.
Let him be totally transparent. Let us track the politicians spending so we can see. They work for us, don’t they? Let there always be a choice to save and spend how you choose Giving up control and putting it in the hands of politicians… Not for me
First part is true. Second sentence isn't. Amounts and addresses are completely hidden on Monero. Bitcoin is a public blockchain. The transaction graph is completely open for anyone to see. Nothing is hidden. Obfuscation is a weaker form of privacy that can be undone by surveillors with more data or user mistakes. And it happens often enough.
La marionnette parle aussi le français. J'en suis convaincu. 🤪
Why do you need examples of other minorities in other countries that you probably don't know too much about? Isn't there enough stuff happening in your own country that could be named as examples?
Just because I'm doing everything right doesn't mean it's the government or anyone's business...
