Spend and replace when you can. Other than zaps, the only time I have used BTC to buy something is when I bought a jade hardware wallet, and perhaps three times I have used bitrefill. Not too many daily ways to actually purchase with BTC yet, especially “in person” when out and about. Perhaps this time next decade it will be a different story.

if you are all in bitcoin. and also doing self-custody. you can only spend your bitcoin, because you have nothing else. if you are borrowing against it, you are not doing self custody.

Mr. Kratter, I have been a vocal critic of yours in the past because I thought you were part of The Michael Saylor cult of Fiat Maximalism due to your prior works but I appreciate you making this video, and I apologize. I hope you continue this work on advocating for spend, and replace. Thank you for making this video.

I fully agree that in order for bitcoin to succeed it must be spent. Imagine if Lazlo never spent his bitcoin. Perhaps it would never have taken off. The US Dollar has value in the Eurodollar/Petrodollar system because it is spent into the global trade networks. If we spend bitcoin into the system, there will be more users and more will ultimately be held. Hoarding alone as a store of value will hit a wall when speculation dries up. That being said...where can I spend my bitcoin? Not a lot has changed since Lazlo.
