I've been invited to a cypherpunk conference and there's not a single bitcoiner in sight. yes it's organized by crypto people but there's also a respectable number of privacy-focussed projects that participate. we should be leading the conversation around cypherpunk issues, or at least be part of it. not a great look.

Bro got hit by reality of what bitcoin isn't about anymore. It's not a personal attack calle. It's a reality and a perspective of the original (now) minority doesn't change the facts how general population invested in bitcoin views it. Just think of the fact that black rock is the biggest bitcoin holder. A currency that should've pushed the state back to its place and prevent financial crisis is held by state and by corpos due to which said crisis happened. "Cypher" community moved on
Calle seems to finally be learning that fedcoins have no place in events dedicated to privacy and security. Takes a while, but most smart people eventually understand why monero and similar are what cypher is all about.
Bitcoin is not cyberpunk at all. Read the first sentence of the cypherpunk manifesto.
bitcoin maximalism will gradually fizzle over the next 5-10 years as bitcoin price increases and it becomes more and more regulatory encumbered. cypherpunk projects that refuse to conform to the legacy system will continue to operate in the margins. it has always been thus.

Now is a great time to take the initiative around the world. Bitcoin is gaining momentum in many areas but the pushback along the privacy dimension has been immense.

β€žPrivacy is necessary for an open society in the electronic age.β€œ
Yes, privacy. Bitcoin doesn't have privacy, it is not cypherpunk.
I misread I thought you were there seeing no bitcoiners, I guess you were looking at the link I didn't click, that said, be the change brother.
nah, we are many cypherpunks in bitcoin. the group think is so strong that people would rather hang out with their own than engage in anything that's new. it took years for zk stuff to finally arrive in Bitcoin because people were so triggered by it.
Fine . All good , I don’t think no One knows someone here as it is anonymous , know by the public key only . 😁
Leading the cypherpunks with 7tps and no privacy while the community simps to politicians and saylor?
Is "the community" with us in the room right now ? If you are in 2025 still not understanding the difference between features and bugs, we can only wish to have fun staying poor πŸ™ƒ
ecash isn't bitcoin. it fits on the "crypto" side of the fake "bitcoin vs crypto" dichotomy. you belong at the conference
That event is not for you. The number 1 priority for anyone in the cryptocurrency and cypherpunk topics is privacy. Fedcoins like yours aren't private, at all.
