This is a good read. On a side note, I agree with @ODELL that people should start saying 'USD token' instead of 'stablecoin'. I think it forces people to acknowledge what they actually are in the context of Bitcoin and related tech. 'Stablecoin' tends to be an abstraction that allows people to get away with discussing them as if they're on equal terms with Bitcoin/Lightning/etc.
