NOSTR NATURALLY DETERS LOW INTEGRITY PEOPLE BECAUSE THEY RELY ON THE ABILITY TO BLOCK CRITICS, RESTRICT REPLIES, AND DELETE POSTS.

are you saying you have more capabilities with different clients and when run on PC?
And if people still want that experience that they normally get from centralized social media, they could just connect to only the Nostr relays that support that functionality.

Haha Matt, if you really feel that way, I'll oblige your test and reply to every one of your posts until you finally address Whirlpool's vulnerabilities to Sybil attacks, and how Whirlpool's tx0 needlessly wastes block space while damaging the privacy of coinjoin participants: View quoted note →
People with low integrity, people with low self confidence, people with herd mentality.
Ive been using “the alternative” for over a decade. migration is rarely about the client. almost always about either a reactionary event, or viral novelty. nostr now enters the post honeymoon period. the long dark night of the soul. now we find out who is here for shallow reasons and who isnt.

hmmm, ok. I do see there's definitely differences in functionality. But I could not make a post with two different browsers. The "post" button doesn't work.

There are a lot of #Bitcoin ers like that on twitter rightnow, I don't understand why they do that but they do it.

Even worse, they rely on someone else's to do block critocs, restrict replies, and delete posts.

I would not necessarily agree with that statement. Personally, I would LOVE the ability to BLOCK people and would definitely fking BLOCK the Shallow Attention Whore RUDE Bitch responsible for my getting attacked for hours months ago. Bitch and those who attacked me will NEVER EVER have anything to do with me again in the future nor be invited to any soirees or events! Nostr is NOT intuitive and difficult for the average person to figure it out to use, esp if not a Coder or a 💻 Geek. So it’s NOT accessible for a main stream audience and that’s why it’s a better group of people who use it now. Main stream audience = ALWAYS ⬆️⬆️⬆️ of low integrity and jerks.
And can only thrive on high reactions. I was listening to a series of videos about some beef in the german youtube space and the amount of problems they have because of the platforms in use alone was actually insane. xD
After thinking about this for a long while, not really. The only reason nostr doesn’t have (many) “low integrity” people is because there aren’t many people on it at all. I’ll bet all the sats in my wallet that if nostr had as large of an active userbase as Tw*tter/X, it would look something like Tw*tter. Pretending that technological implementations would magically turn dickheads into better human beings is wishful thinking. The SJW keyboard warriors are still going to SJW. The incels, neo-nazis, and white supremacists are still going to be pieces of shit, regardless of whether or not they can block people or delete posts. The fundamental reason some people behave the way they do on social media is because it’s an anonymous medium of interaction. There’s no face-to-face aspect of socializing, thereby dehumanizing the person on the other end to a degree. No “features” are going to fix that.
oh, also, don't use chrome, use brave if you are going with the chrome-based type i find firefox to be very annoying in many ways, the most irritating one is its DRM nag when you disable the widevine DRM and then someone posts like, spotify on nostr and it pops up and chews a whole line of the top of the window nagging you to enable this piratical DRM shit (because it takes over control of part of your computer) the main problem was it wasn't letting me screenshot my browser!
On coracle muting becomes blocking, because of the algo, those who are muted become blocked from everyone using the client. Its worse than individualk blocking. Not least because mute can be useful for reasons other than disliking comments.
