I love when the term ignorant is used correctly.

DIY?
Yeah maybe, a good laptop might be cheaper.
Wondering if its worth it, regardless if DIY or buy their item.
Running a node is worth it. Havent used start9 but they seem to have quite a robust choice of different things for your node.
Grab a cheap older laptop and a decent external hardrive. 1TB should, should br good for at least another 5 years or so
Maybe I dont understand what advantage Start9 offers over just running the apps you want on an Ubuntu-flashed laptop.
was just relistening to this
Start9 is cool.
i don't run it personally as I need stuff thats not packaged for StartOS.
but otherwise, why not?
and they're a cool company

I'm ignorant too, but I think some advantages may be: hardened OS with minimized attack surface, prepackaged and vetted apps from their official "store"
I built an umbrel for around $200. I run my own node and lightning node. It’s great!
Nicely said. Personally i keep my bitcoin node with just bitcoin stuff on it. Use seperare server for self hosting oictures, passwords etc
Very easy. I don't remember much.
Doo eet.
If using raspberry pi, use the latest one. Old ones will perform very poorly, if at all.
