I find that just unfollowing does the trick. I still see what gets reposted.
Would be cool to delineate accounts or just for bots you follow where the note shows on the screen & then fades after a couple seconds from your feed forever.
This is problem with rektbot for me.
Some simple vibe coding should be able to do this. 🤝
Just unfollow it and trust that it's most interesting notes will be boosted by someone that you do follow.
100%. There are a lot of good accounts that post 10+ times a day, but I'd end up missing the less frequent posters if I followed them.
I save a few of them in bookmarks, and check them out from time to time.
A semi-follow option for those accounts that shows posts above a certain zap level would be nice

Then their notes would occasionally hit your feed & you can unmute them.
Right now I rely on others to Boost their 🔥 notes to remind me.
It's a throttling setting that we need.
I think it would be easiest if there are lists to follow in your account. Being able to split out the people you follow and only look at the specific list.

I just unfollow it but yeah I was thinking the same. Would be good to have various follow options, like normal follow, follow only the most popular post each hour/day/week, follow with high priority, all posts from high priority npub are at the top with a pin or special tag until they are read or something.

No mobile client that I know of. Will come eventually I hope. Been wondering why amethyst will show "muted" in the time line selector. Would be nice to have any created lists there.

What if we had a star-based system to prioritize what appears on our home page?
Twitter has a "Home" feed and a "Following" feed. Imagine if Nostr had something similar: a "Following" feed where everything from the people we follow appears chronologicaly, and a "Preferred" feed (or whatever you want to call it) where we rank the people we follow based on how much we want to see their posts.
For example, I could give you 5 out of 5 stars to put you at the top of my Preferred feed. Someone else might get 3 stars, so I see their posts occasionally. Another might get 1 star, meaning their posts show up rarely.
Just unfollow and wait for someone to repost it. That will happen 🫡
This is a brilliant idea. There should be something like a partial mute. Where you turn the dial up and down. Or reversing it in a more positive sense, you can ask to see more of content that you like. ie you can ask your likes to auto-calibrate your mute filter.
Stuff like this is rly annoying. But it sounds to me like you want an algo that shows you what it thinks you will find relevant on a timeline. Kinda like X's For You tab, but preferably with total control by the user.
