I miss home
We used to put our headphones on, start listening to the music we want to be on the CD, while simultaneously staring at the disc. It took a while but that's how the music gets to be on the CD.

I used to dub my dad's records onto tapes.

The funny thing, if you still have a CD player in your car or a Hi-Fi station at home, CDs are so much superior to any mp3 or Spotify.
Not those burned from shitty quality mp3s from Napster or kazaa
It helped if we squinted. The burn was more concentrated.

i'm stlll burning data (including media) to blu-ray optical (BD-RE) to survive the EMP attack
my blu-ray drive remains in a faraday bag for when they make new pcs after the future attack
You would buy a pack of 200 blank CDs from the local convenience store for $5 and use a computer to put the music onto the CDs.
That way your friends without computers could also listen to music for free.
It's called burning because the laser in the CD drive would burn the information into the disks
