Damn... I need your help with this Nostriches My poems are going to the printer very soon because the magician @Agi Choote has nearly finished casting her spells over my work 🪄 Pretty soon they will be on @Fanfares too, thanks to @arkinox and @Shortfiat And I've been told there might even be room for me to do a live reading of a couple of them at @Bitfest I'm kinda bricking it because the tough façade is about to be levelled. Any words of wisdom for someone who has never put herself out there like this before? #asknostr

The courage it takes to create is the same courage it takes to live with an open heart Rollo May on creativity and courage: 'A choice confronts us. Shall we, as we feel our foundations shaking, withdraw in anxiety and panic? Frightened by the loss of our familiar mooring places, shall we become paralyzed and cover our inaction with apathy? If we do those things, we will have surrendered our chance to participate in the forming of the future. We will have forfeited the distinctive characteristic of human beings - namely, to influence our evolution through our own awareness... 'Or shall we seize the courage necessary to preserve our sensitivity, awareness, and responsibility in the face of radical change?... 'We are called upon to do something new, to confront a no man’s land, to push into a forest where there are no well-worn paths and from which no one has returned to guide us... To live into the future means to leap into the unknown, and this requires a degree of courage... image 'This courage will not be the opposite of despair. We shall often be faced with despair, as indeed every sensitive person has been... courage is not the absence of despair; it is, rather, the capacity to move ahead in spite of despair.' image

imho all artist in all mediums face a challenge when releasing work, maybe this video from the Spirited Man might inspire you: If the public reading doesn't sit well with you then don't do it, trust your gut. you are already taking a big step, congrats AJ.
I'm very excited that you are taking this step and happy that Fanfares can help! My realest advice is this: perfectionism and pride is the most common source of anxiety about putting your work out there. In reality, most people won't care about what you're doing, a few will hate it, and some will like it. That's pretty much how it always goes. Don't feel bad if nobody cares. Don't pay attention to the haters. Embrace those who like it as new friends. And just keep doing it. Our notions around fame and ideas about success corrupt the humble process of creation. We creators are painting on a large world with our tiny brushes. We can only paint a little area and then we are gone forever. Better to paint anything you can while you are here than nothing at all. If we all did it, the world would be a more colorful place.
This is beautiful, thank you @arkinox. I'm def not doing it for fame. But to colour a little corner of the world before I exit stage left would be wonderful
I've had enough adrenaline and cortisol over the last 2 weeks, my friend 🙃
I did one public reading in late June and it was scary but worth it. This, if it happens, will be on a bigger scale. But what is life if we're too scared to level up? (I can always keep a vomit bucket next to me if I have to 😂) Thanks for sharing the video @Cat-Go-Purrrrrrr. I'll watch it tonight

Nothing is perfect…once you’re happy (enough) with it, put it out. Let the world receive the vibrations and history hold the proof-of-work! 🧡🫡
