Ooof and people who use it through open router?
Ah I was just wondering about this. RIP that privacy policy I read that said they don't train on chats that I didn't believe. Now it's an explicit opt out I won't believe.
This is a fine question. The TechCrunch piece says API usage is excluded, but I'd never trust that.

Ack, that's a downer. 😕 I used Claude a lot in the early days and preferred it to ChatGPT.

the opting out in the app is a clusterfuck of dark ux design patterns. when I click the toggle to not share my chats, will hitting the accept button. mean opting out or opting in? Ps: I need followers yall
I use those services exclusively through ppq.ai which never asked for personal information and promises not to link one chat with the next.

Yes I was not amused to see this today. And it was a matter of time this to happen. On the bright side there’s now the AI Lumo by Proton which I think will get a boost. I have only tested it briefly and will definitely use it more instead of Claude. image

You get....clows by opting out? I kinda hoped explanation that would let me understand and help me explain to others when i'm asked (my family, friends etc.)
Dark patterns” are tricks in app or website design that try to push you into doing something you might not really want to do. Example: making the “accept all” button big and bright, but hiding the “opt out” option in small text or several menus deep. It’s basically design that manipulates users instead of helping them

Anthropic will now retain all user data for five years, and has reversed course on using chats for training; they will. Sep 28 is the deadline to opt out. I just did, and the UI is a master class in dark patterns.
