I just feel bad for these ignorant people that still think some hero is going to come save them after all these decades of having their expectations failed.
Bad take. For one, the US has the best criminal justice system in the entire world. Get in trouble in another country & you will be crying for the good ol USA. BUY BTC, build the world you want to live in & keep calling out liars & hypocrites until there’s change. Old people die. Replace them with younger, better leaders. Rinse, repeat.

You can shake locals' hands and look them in the eye... human relationship gold.
Retracted. I didn’t have the context. Good take. Move within the US to better places. New Hampshire for example if you live in Massachusetts, NY, or Rhode Island.
It definitely can be. And how many people live near family but don’t see them a lot. A lot more than people want to admit. Moving can actually bring families closer. Planned visits etc etc etc.

I feel that pain, same feeling I have about London
While what you say is true, we have been farming since before COVID. Localism got people through the worst but the rebound back to old habits has left many reeling from the experience. Local producers feel used and abused. The inflationary period of the last few years led people back to the "cheaper" chain options. The momentum behind the PRIME Act is once again officially dead. Fragile, centralized industrial supply chains once again rule. Industrial ag production investments are near all time highs. MAHA is a catchy slogan, but it's not changing anything at the local level and certainly not the soil health. The system is working exactly as it is intended.
I live where people put eggs in coolers, produce, freeze dried candy and firewood at the end of their driveways, price written on cardboard and a cash drop box. I’ll be adding “Fix the money … “ stickers with cash. P.S. If you can get duck eggs, GET DUCK EGGS! View quoted note →

Your zip code may now matter more than your country when it comes to your family’s health, education, safety, and future opportunities.
I think about a lot these days. They predicted that many of the government entitlements will break and people will protest. Many people are in denial, but we're watching it happen in real time and it's only getting worse.
We got our ice situation down. Thats one thing we got in the 'Great White North'. Nice crisp ice last Friday. My first time out since April. My body ached. Had to stretch out before each shift. Still got 5 goals and a bunch of beauty helpers. Puck again this Friday 🤙
There's a saying, you don't break the law, the law breaks you. When people have given up their autonomy and competency through their dependence upon the government doll as a way of life, they are buying the lie that they are incapable of learning what they need to learn to provide for themselves, and that the government is responsible for keeping them alive. So, when the government goes insolvent because it can't buy votes through money printing anymore, the natural law that both government and civilians have been breaking through their Faustian and codependent relationship will break both groups, and the pain and poverty that has been fostered through this relationship will come out in very messy ways., i.e. riots and screams of entitlement. Tom Cruise once said, "Don't be careful. Be competent." Even though he said this in the context of doing stunts for a Mission Impossible movie, it also applies here. There's a reason it's important to be competent, because it can lead to a person being able to not only survive, but thrive, while also having a respectful intrapersonal relationship with themselves, and being able to pass on that respect to the people around them. If we add character to competence, by consistently telling the truth kindly, then we have an individual who contributes to people and leaves a legacy. What a massive difference it makes between those people who select incompetence and lack of character as a way of life, and those who select competence and character as a way of life. The former leads to hell, the latter leads to Heaven.
Facts!! Want a calmer pace of life, more nature , fewer 304s, affordable housing, less crime, proximity to farms.... Move to the country! Most of my peers were gobsmacked when I moved to the country. None of them are confused now. In 10 years I'll look like a genius 😆... I do also have six kids though... Certainly not the life for everyone.
