Consider: The brazen censorship & chokehold the establishment is trying to get over social & online platforms – is the level of control they’ve *always had* over television networks & Hollywood. What if they’ve always been this corrupt, & the only thing that changed was our visibility of it? 🤔

This isn't a "what if", they HAVE always been this corrupt and it has been public knowledge for decades. The difference now is the scale at which the censorship must reach to be effective today. When all the establishment had to censor was a handful of media companies, it was generally accepted because the public were strictly consumers. Now that the consumers have become the ones being censored, we finally get to see first hand the ramifications of decades of complacency.
Not even our collective visibility, just ours yours and mine individually. Many people knew about TV and warned against it regularly for decades before the internet got to regular people in the 90s. Think for yourself. Question authority. And Turn on, tune in, drop out From Timothy Leary come to mind.
Those things have always been part of the propaganda campaign against people, owned by the 3 letter agencies. Like water torture, a slow drip drip of their indoctrination over decades to children and adults alike. If you step back you can see how ideas have been changed generation to generation. Now is the great revelation where the truth is being revealed almost as quickly as the lies are being pushed.

💯 without a doubt!
The gatekeepers of information have always strived for censoring the truth on behalf of the ruling classes since the dawn of humanity and information technologies.
I think you’re right , absolute control absolute power or something like that - been going on hundreds of years - evil wankers
Yes. The corporate/elite sponsored government and media has always been crafting narratives to meet their agenda of enslavement of the masses. The distract and divide policy to obscure the truth seems obvious on NOSTR .... but less so on co-opted social media.

I agree, they are loosing their grip on power and ability to control the population through the traditional media. Like a wild animal that’s being backed into a corner this is when they will become most dangerous!
If you frame it as a question it will inspire more brain activity in people who may disagree with you. If you frame it as a declarative they mostly just get angry. In other words, from the context of what I think about it, the question was rhetorical 🤣 I agree with the notion of it having to change drastically in degree because of how different the landscape is. It’s actually interesting because the community of those powerful in Hollywood and the Television networks was so small that there didn’t even need to be any active conspiracy. It would have just been implicit. You just don’t do or say anything that pisses off The Club. Now that the boundaries around their little empire have disintegrated into 10,000 pieces, they have to explicitly and viciously enforce what the power they had implicitly held for so long due to the lack of technological avenue for competing information spread. So the escalation can be thought of as a violent reaction to the loss of power.

That is a good point. I have a hard time enjoying movies or shows now that I can’t unsee all the propaganda.
Cornered animal lashing out, knows the end is near. Can still do some damage obviously, but it’s not gonna survive the transition into uncensorable money and communication. Hence the desperate attempts to censor and “deprogram.” I hope they get prosecuted, but even if they don’t, they’re headed for irrelevance and ideological extinction.
A simpler way to frame this: •When the number of people who control the overwhelming majority of information dissemination is small, consensus can be maintained culturally. • When anyone can publish whatever they think and reach millions, the only way to keep control over the narrative is to bring the political hammer down on all alternative avenues of communication.
somewhat true but the magnitude of censorship/chokehold has increased along with the visibility either way BUILD ON
It's only when the tide goes out that you see who was swimming naked. What a fun time to be alive and to see behind the propaganda curtain.
Someone once said: "listen to mainstream media when they talk about something you know a lot about, and notice how much is wrong. Is it hard to imagine that those errors extend into every field?". Almost every time Swedish media talks about the power grid, they get something wrong, often several things. Often simple errors, but also often in a predictable manner, such as ignoring that energy produced on sunny and windy days can't be stored for other times, at least not without extreme amounts of money being "invested" in batteries which relatively quickly degrade. This was a few years ago, and I think the opinions on nuclear are in the process of turning positive, but then and now Sweden has about 50/50 nuclear and hydro, with a growing few % intermittents on top. Electricity prices are already very low, sometimes negative, on sunny and windy days, making more of solar and wind unprofitable. It's of course expensive on cloudy, windless days though.
