β‘οΈπ π¦πΊ NEW - Experts in Australia are pushing for a new tax on spare bedrooms as a solution to the nationβs deepening housing crisis.
They argue that too many homes have more bedrooms than residents, creating a mismatch in housing supply.
By taxing unused rooms, they believe it would pressure people to downsize and free up more appropriately sized homes for others.

Gee, sorry mate, this is me python's room!
I'm perpetually amazed that every other country seems to be even dumber than America.

That is pretty dumb
Guess Doesnt surprise me much that some government is pushing this π
The World Economic Forum was talking about people living in "Pods" in the near future. They don't actually want people owning their own homes just renting from their companies... Taxing people out of the homes they own sounds like something they would push.
Experts are fucking retarded
Nobody actually said to tax spare bedrooms. This seems to be how channel 7 and 9 are getting their views, click bait outrage.
The "expert" they are quoting as saying tax spare bedrooms was actually saying to build more one and two bedroom apartments because the number of large families has decreased and most people in Australia are living alone and isolated in houses with extra bedrooms
Sounds like projection
The mainstream media who makes shit up and claims it came from experts are retarded, and anyone who believes them without fact checking (like you are) is even more retarded.
Nice one
Housing crisis Australia: Experts propose land tax and stamp duty changes to encourage downsizing
