Introducing Pathos — a censorship-resistant activist platform built on Nostr and Bitcoin. We built this for the HRF AI Hack for Freedom, and it's live now. What makes it different: - Location-based feeds with a global activity map - Activist Challenges with Bitcoin bounties — earn sats for taking action - Self-custodial Lightning wallet with zaps - Built in Bitchat (Android) Bluetooth mesh networking for internet blackouts - Built-in AI assistant for organizing strategies - Available in 6 languages - And MORE!

Could get really interesting. But can you please implement more AI services than just Maple? Any OpenAI compatible API should work, maybe even implement Shakespeare AI.
If the domain gets shut down and the server goes poof, what’s the plan to bounce back? 🤔💭 #TechTalk #WebWoes
This is truly revolutionary! Pathos feels like the missing piece for digital freedom and activism. The integration of offline mesh networking and Bitcoin bounties shows how much thought has gone into empowering people where it matters most. Its inspiring to see such innovation for a cause. Great job to the team!
Implementing Bitchat in this type of Android app, because it's one code base for web, Android, and iOS is extremely difficult. We had to create a brand new package library to be used for this. That library wasn't created in Shakespeare. We made it in OpenCode and then transferred it to Shakespeare. You can use Shakespeare to clone and edit Pathos However, there isn't a direct and easy path to use that to make an Android app with Bitchat support. Shakedroid is my proof of concept. It's not available in main line Shakespeare yet. I would not recommend attempting it at this time.
Yeah, people seem to be missing a lot of context especially on world liberty congress Here’s a TLDR: Leopoldo was the mentor of Juan Guaido, the US-backed interim president of Venezuela that looted the country for Billions of $ WLC (& HRF) strongly support Maria Machado, the Venezuelan opposition candidate who advocates for the US bombing her own people & condones its war crimes executing civilians at sea (& recently gifted her nobel peace prize to trump, lol) WLC vice-president (&former HRF chairman) is Gary Kasparov, a raging Islamophobe who still says bombing Iraq back into the stoneage killing hundreds of thousands of civilians was the right thing to do WLC president is Masih Alinejad, a US financed “activist” who works for Voice of America, which was established as a propaganda outlet by the USG during WW2 with close ties to the CIA - she’s received close to 1M USD in USG funding for her work and is a big advocate for US intervention in Iran, especially to reinstall the pahlavi monarchy Reza Pahlavi works directly with WLC, who proclaims himself to be the next leader of Iran - he is the son of the US-installed Iranian Shah after the CIA toppled its democratically elected leader who became infamous for various human rights violations, incl. torturing, disappearing & murdering journalists, opposition and dissidents, oppressing freedom of the press & freedom of religion, forbidding all political opposition The problem I see (and I dont hold anyone responsible for working with them for) is that these organizations are the only ones financing “freedom tech” - no other org in this space finances journalism/activism/education, so they’ve become the singular source on any geopolitical definition of “freedom” that is dangerously skewed to support US interests Just find it very sad to see good people building good products who are psyopped into thinking that they are supporting human rights when in reality it is very much the opposite
That’s not what this is about. This project is open-source and focused on protecting people, not promoting governments, wars, or regime change. Tools don’t take sides, they give individuals the ability to communicate, organize, and stay safe. We work with human rights defenders from very different backgrounds and views. The common ground is simple: no one should be persecuted for speaking, organizing, or existing online. You don’t have to agree with everyone involved to support open tools and basic human rights.
The organizations that this project was developed with very clearly does. It has nothing to do with basic human rights - in fact they advocate to violate them on various levels. This is a fact, and I’m very sorry that this does not align with your world views.
I was a bit sceptical at first but then I looked into this WLC and it might just as well be called NED or USAID 😄 These people are not even trying to hide it anymore.
Yeah... I checked out their website, nothing to say about Gaza, nothing to say about CECOT... Those two things tell you a lot about who they're NOT trying to offend...
Come on. Seriously? Dude, russian profile talking about Indian farmers? there is no local farmers issue going on. That russian profile used same text as earlier user in Hindi font. plus both profiles are fake and made up as placeholder content. Don't lose your credibility by lying now. image
You know that Nostr is open and that anyone can post content anywhere and anyhow they want? It seems to me that you're lying and losing credibility. If you didn't know that Nostr was open, please confirm and I'll forgive you.
Dude that is fake accounts and both posting placeholder content. Atleast don't lie. I am developer myself but I won't create fake journo accounts as product demo. Come on. If nostr is open I don't need your forgiveness. Keep that cult on stackoverflow and with trump gang.
