Enough to be gullible, not enough to be skeptical
Feynman was able to bring comprehension of physics to the layman in “Six Easy Pieces.” At the time he made that statement they were still generally teaching students to think—and they were allowed to. For the 30 yrs or so that followed, a college degree assured you were employable—and a value.
University degrees used to be about learning the skill of critical thought above all else .... overtime it degenerated into rote learning preordained 'facts'. View quoted note →
