Many will be in dis(ac)cord

Who's making DiscordSTR??? View quoted note →

These protocols like Matrix and Mastodon are federated but not fully decentralized like nostr

Consider flotilla.social

Agreed. Nostr is the "final" place. But stuff in the Fediverse tends to be better developed and have far more users. Nostr's still a pretty "rough" UX, especially for anything that's outside of basic Kind 1 microblogging. It'll get better but for now IMHO if I'm recommending decentralized tech for Normies it's probably going to be something closer to fediverse.

No worries. Discord is banned in Turkey. 🥳 View quoted note →

1000% people would rarher do this than join nostr 😂

All social networks will start doing the same. The walls are closing in, and Nostr will become the last place of freedom

Mastodon is good

prime opportunity for nostr. is there a discord clone?

Good for nostr ✊🏻 View quoted note →

Why do the sheep keep cooperating with every new surveillance?

GM 🌞 Centralized platforms will always bend the knee to political whims. Decentralized protocols are the future. View quoted note →

I’m not giving Discord shit

First they make young people addicted, then they stop them from using it, then they introduce digital IDs to use it?! Hmmm.

If you have to prove who you are to say what you think, you aren't speaking freely. View quoted note →

Never liked Discord anyway.

RIP the whole internet.

closed source bans tor and vpns no e2ee why people ever used that crap is beyond me.

Holly shit

Wgat are you talking about? I've used Discord from Tor and VPNs before. Also, putting children at risk is like, the most popular use case of Discord. I woild be very surprised if they require IDs.

This will make my life so much easier. One less shit app to use 😂.

try registering over Tor or VPN, tell me how it goes.

I did though. Like, do you need me to make a fourth discord account now? Are you using a reputable email provider?

missing voice chat, screen sharing and a desktop app

This is true
