I bought a drink at CheatCode in Bedford April 2024 on the first morning of the conference. Paid sats accrued from @Fountain Orange juice never tasted so good 🍊
I bought an usb saphire block erupter. it cost me 0.1 bitcoin at the time (about 20 dollars). The time it took for it to arrive by mail, it couldn't mine that much in forever.... So i bought 10 more :-D
A mini Lan server device. I was planning on using it to move my file storage off of my personal computer. In the end I ended up not using it, but I was just thrilled to find someone that was actually accepting Bitcoin for real products. image
2016: I bought a Dell computer from the US store and I had to pay in Bitcoin since they did not accept credit cards issued by my German bank. I don't think Dell accepts BTC payments anymore. And no, I'm not thinking about the current value of the bitcoins I spent for a basic laptop. 😭
Virwox 2014. SLL exchange into BTC I disposed of them when I binned a dead laptop. Yes 'them'. I was later annoyed as they were $14 each. I'd lost $38.
First in person purchase was just the other day. Helped a small costume jewelry booth merchant install Fedi and sent her $10 of sats over lightning in exchange for a necklace my girlfriend wanted. Felt like a milestone that was a long time coming.
An Albyhub with a lightning channel and a node. A complete package.
my first EVER purchase was with Litecoin actually in Prague. my second purchase, I think, was food from a delivery service I think. first lightning payment was for Bitcoin socks!
I just actually received my first free bitcoin money from you. 17sats is great news, thanks alby
