No thanks don’t need to hear from a guy who gets his talking points from the Talmud
Lex made podcast with one of the WEF members and didn't notice it at all? Lost of time then and leaves a question about lex role in this.

How was your experience with Vipassana? My friend and I are considering doing it. Any advice on how to choose the right place and how to prepare? 🧘‍♀️

You definitely haven’t listened to him or read him. Or, something is preventing you from doing so…
@Suhail it looks like Jack will only reply to you. Ask him about Yrvals comments on “why do we need so many people,” and while he’ll survive will the rest of us. Also, ask him if he took the clot shot, and why/why not. Thank you!

The "story" only gets told as much as it's given fuel and oxygen to continue spreading. I'm writing a young adult fiction trilogy right now that tells a story where bitcoin and nostr are the backdrop. It's so badass. Can't wait for it to be finished. But telling the story for Bitcoin IMO is to tell the story of so many other things. This also needs to exist in the primordial aether, teachers need help. We're expert communicators and are doing the best in an under supported role in a broken and archaic system... but there's lots of us working hard to change it from within. Also, here's the book cover concept. It's so rad! image

Exacy. They're storytellers with big backers to crate public narrative. All of life is about power and stories. All of it.

Are we to believe his vipassana practice informs his work, worldview? I've read his works and listened to his talks, in my opinion his practice seems to have awakened insightful indifference versus equanimity. Developing concentrative meditation without samatha, wisdom practice, leads to indifference towards all beings; true equanimity leads to joyfulness not indifference. There is wisdom in avoiding those who's practice lacks that awareness.

So much drama over jack posting this, so little awareness in personal bias judging his reasoning. You can ask jack why he posted this, you can watch the video, or you can ignore it, those are reasonable reactions; saying that jack is in bed with the WEF is making a few too many logical leaps.

many people seek to have their prejudices confirmed, and - as a result, they label others without really listening to them

He “is” the secular fundamentalist movement. Fauci was the science, now Yuval will be the free will regulator. Lol! I’ve read some of his work and it is sophisticated sophistry is all. I would like to see him in a debate!!! It would be entertaining.
“Big Backers” — you mean the largest pools of money and power . But yeah at the end of the day they just project stories, like eating Bugs.
Historiquement, la pratique vipassana incluait le samatha, sans elle, le nihilisme attend le pratiquant... Iife d'indifférence déguisée en illumination.
Every era has its representative thinker. This gentleman epitomizes the fall of civilization and the corruption of the human spirit like no one else could.

I miss all those spaces. It also made traveling to a new city interesting. You had to find the cool "underground" shops, before heading out to the darkest of clubs at night.
Such a good interview. Is Harari insinuating that AI COULD suffer and get consciousness by itself? Is Lex Fridman saying that leaders ONLY catalyze the viral spread of a story?. Is then saying that big leaders CAN'T create new stories and that all the stories were created before?

My first problem with him is that he says computers don't have feelings, but it's people with feelings who made computers. People act like computers made themselves?
To be honest, these people belong to the old order and they do not understand, why people are not playing along. The answer is very easy, but they will never ask the question. This old system will break and the coming years will be even more crazy as they already have been.

Lex is either clueless, an actor, or ten years old. It would take one of these to account for his ‘the world is made of good people’ persona.
Yuval is living proof that you can meditate and be a very unconscious, limited person. His ideas are terrifying and very dangerous (actually not in this particular podcast, but feel free to check out the 2 minute linked video to hear some pearls of wisdom...). I read his 3 books. He hates humanism, you get an uncomfortable sense that you as an individual are the problem, and he constantly tries to manipulate you into thinking you are irrelevant and most people will be useless in a few years. Such a reductionist and materialistic point of view! Typical of the new religion called science - a once great endeavour now almost entirely corrupted by corporations. He's intelligent and has many good points, but when he goes extremist like 'humans are hackable animals', 'there is no soul or free will', or even worse 'the whole idea that what I choose is my free will, that's over', he shows his true cards... Essentially he is a spokesman for the wef, which is a very powerful and influential and dangerous organization. Technocrats who really believe that the only way to save humanity is to surveil and measure everything, collect data and ultimately enslave us through total control of resources. As for why Jack posted this, I think he was just curious to check the sentiment around this man - besides sharing the comment about bitcoin of course ;)
I don't care for debates anymore, we shouldn't care to be "winning" conversations. I'd rather have two people with opposed perspectives engage in a dialectic. Let them calibrate to each other's words, find where there is shared ground and identify the edges of each perspective, explore new territory.
Any background to why you are posting this Jack? Not guy is NOT a friend of the freedom/open source movement. Time is the most precious resource. If this is to “know your enemy” then 👍. Not for me though. I read Sapiens and almost couldn’t finish. 🤮
No thanks. This idea is Marxist to the core. For example, Dialectical Materialism . . . Nobody should accept the premise that exploring new territory is always a good thing. Evil wants you to explore new territory and be inclusive to it's "diverse" wickedness. The only common ground people need to reach is agreement that we can all do what we want as long as we aren't forcing others to do the will of anither person, or another group of people. No, majority rule is not justification for forcing everyone to do anything and everything. 51% vs. 49% is nothing more than 1 person bullying and pushing another person. 66% vs 34% is 2 people bullying 1 person.
