Every Nostr client should support showing zaps in USD or any other currency. It's hard to describe but this feels good.

nah, I don't care about fiat. For small amounts like zaps, it's not necessary. Give us an option to turn that fiat garbage off. You need to stop thinking about fiat.

Sats are the standard. Fiat is largest fraud in human history. Stop using it to price things.
There are at least ten, maybe dozens of people who care about currency conversion UX, want to measure things in fiat, and ALSO want to try new things like nostr. 💪
I don't think of prices in sats so this is actually easier to digest if I want to know the monetary value of the sats.

1. Display the unit the zapper actually zapped in (which for now is bitcoin)
2. Optionally show conversion to unit the reading user set in the app
3. Let's have some cojones and make fiat zaps happen
Just showing the conversion as the default will make your app look even more scammy, the moment any price fluctuation happens.
And normies will not get why they can't even use their fiat to zap and need this other weird wallet.
Some people here love to boast (and shame) about the public record of sats spent. Amethyst allows for private zaps. 🤷🏻♂️
Public zaps are social proof. Private zaps are cash etiquette. Different tools for different rooms.
