If the spam filter is on, everytime the app downloads spam content from the account it blocks again, like when you are in their profile.

You're describing the digital gulag's built-in self-licking ice cream cone. They curate your reality, then demand you laud their "security." It’s not a bug, it’s the feature of their control grid, perfected by the likes of Google and every other data miner for the WEF.
Vitor you gotta fix these flaws man like why can't you submit your f-droid version to zap why you putting play version in there. You messed my updates up.
So I didn't mute his account myself.
You muted them on my behalf? Seriously?
What the fuck?
If you keep all of our security filters on, yes. That only happens for accounts you don't follow. So, there are two ways you can solve: follow the account or disable the feature on your settings.
Virtually nobody uses the F-Droid version. We keep it for the pros, but frankly there is no usage to even justify keeping it. I considered killing it many times already.
Also, Zap Store does not support flavors, so we cant have two versions there at all.
You hide the settings and then mute people on my npub without my permission.
And act like that's normal and reasonable and I'm just a stupid retard for using Amethyst anyway I guess.
sick of nostr Devs constantly enshitfying everything.
Why can't you make an app that works and then just leave it alone?
Why ruin everything?
Could we have some degree of threshold configurability in the spam filter? Some of these accounts are so spammy that they are autoblocked a splitsecond after I try to unblock to see what they post. 🤣
My man, that has been a feature of the app since the beginning, about 4 years ago. Its one of the main reasons that Amethyst users didnt even notice that a spam wave was happening in the past.
But again, you can disable it if you want and then re-enable in the next spam wave. Up to you.
I do remember people complaining about Amethyst introducing shadow bans, I thought you had removed it after so much community backlash but you just made it secret instead.
Saying it's not secret doesn't change that you put it on by default and hid the settings deep in a manu of a manu to make it hard to turn off, then don't even tell people it's on.
It's dishonest deceitful behaviour.
None of this garbage should be on by default, none of the settings should be hidden like they are.
Our goal is to make the best experience for new users as possible. If they want, they can easily open the doors for anything. It's up to them. It's not hidden.
In fact, almost everyone that removes the filter ends up re-enabling later. Especially if they use public chat functions or hashtag topics where spam and scams are rampant.
And again, that only happens on strangers. If you are following the person, nothing applies. So, if they want to see that person, they can simply follow. If they don't want to follow, then the person is not worth their time anyway.
"To make the best experience let's fuck people over and not even tell them we're doing it"
Who are we fucking over?
Also, you should only have 3 relays on your outbox relay lists. Most clients don't use more than the first 3 anyway but you are just fucking your followers over by forcing them to check all your relays for posts from you. Which consumes a huge amount of your and their data plans. 3 relays in each list is more than enough.
Amethyst app "I'm going to connect to 400 relays for no reason"
Amethyst Dev "you shouldn't be connected to anymore than 3 relays"
Yep, because if you follow 200 people and each person adds 20 relays, that's 4000 connections.
Your own users mostly.
So manually remove all the extra relays that Amethyst has added.
How can you seriously claim you're trying to improve the experience for new users?
I'm too frustrated so I'm going to stop now, absolutely nothing productive will come from me calling you a retard.
Have a nice day.
we don't add any relays automatically. WE don't even recommend outbox relays these days.. Just keep the relays that have your posts.
You just said if someone follows other people on Amethyst they automatically add their relays.
Which is it?
That's just the outbox model. Every client right now does this. Nostr requires it. The list of relays you have to connect to download posts from your follows to assemble your feed is a combination of all the relays declared by everybody you follow.
If the app doesnt connect to them all, you are missing posts on your screen. I guarantee it.
So, your own relay lists are just for your app to find your own content and for your followers to find your content and send replies back to you.
The bigger this list in your settings / relays, the worse it gets for your and your follow.
So I'm either missing notes or I'm making it worse for myself and my followers.
Good to know.
Or just reduce the amount of relays and you solve both. Easy win.

See if resetting the Index and Search relay lists on your Relay Settings page helps. The post doesn't have a valid relay hint and we can't find the that authors relays. So we then use the index and search lists.
Either that or the user has deleted the post and we will never find it anywhere.
Vitor when you say stuff like this it's very sad. Your calling me nobody I use it & I am somebody. Theres for sure more then just me & you can as armada has 2 versions accidently. Just put your f-droid there don't be difficult
#asknostr do you prefer an f-droid or google play version where googles spywares in it for compliance?
Why do you say that the Play version has spyware? Which library that we use is spyware?
So you know about those apps that have been around for years to inspect apps & have collected research from submitted reports that throughout the updates they confirmed what is spyware a tracker right?
Why do you think it's compliance to put those things in the app if it's not spyware?

Do those apps know that we block those callbacks in our OS permission process?
Claude agrees

They can try. This is not my first rodeo. I know how to block Google own's shenanigans.
You can put a DNS proxy to check if you want. The app won't call the tracking urls you think exists.
