Bitcoin is for everyone. But the current tools for self custody aren’t. So we set out to build something that makes true ownership more accessible. We call it Bitkey. I’m excited to share that starting today we’re opening up pre-orders! www.bitkey.world

* milion dollar valid question You do your research or you wait until everyone's got their hands on it and report.
how wouldn't it be legit? this is the Bitcoin hardware signing device (wallet) from Block. they've been publicly working on it for a year.
Interesting. As far as multi sig setups go, this seems like a sane setup for most people. Good gift for your less technically adept family relatives. I've really never liked multi sig. Makes sense for some people/organizations but not for everyday folks. This seems to take most of the potential pain points out of using multi sig however. Not a solution for the truly paranoid, as two of three keys are on Internet connected devices. But it's still much more secure than your fiat bank account likely is. View quoted note →
+ tax + shipping Trezor 1 and 3 are at $69 and $79 respectively. The latter has a "secure element" and a screen to show what you are actually approving with it. What does the BitKey provide that is not provided by other products as half the price already?
Ive had concerns about the lack of screen and never got a good answer as well. I read (or tried to read) the white paper and see it's quite complicated. I'm open to learning but don't intend to spend for it until I see a clear value/benefit.
bought these (3) with tons of extra washers and a jig, shipped from France to USA, for less than $100. No "privacy agreement". image

Would this work with Nunchuk?
@jack What Jack says and what he does is totally different. Why is Jack not allowing cashapp users to withdraw BTC to self custody ? Currently cashapp has withdrawal limit of $2k. What is the point of buying this HW wallet if users cannot fully withdraw their BTC?
Do we have other alternatives to backup other than iCloud or Google? Like Proton Drive or anywhere we want? I try to avoid these clouds….
Why not available in NY? 😔 Didn’t think bitlicense bs applied to hw wallets?

I like the spend limits. Prevents a full wallet drain. Is it using bluetooth to communicate to the phone?

using android/ios mobile phone to manage or send bitcoin is for fools. Why do people use the most insecure tech ever created for managing bitcoins? Does the app come with push notifications too?
