AI like any other technology that we know, will destroy some jobs and create others, therefore the narrative that "AI is going to take all the jobs" is a retarded and Malthusian inspired take that is meant to do two things:
1) Get people primed for UBI => more state owned slaves
2) Inspire to doomerism that will crush the independent entrepreneurial spirit and regulate small businesses out of existence by raising cost of starting a business => centralization of transaction volume and market power in the hands of the tech demons.
3) More taxes and less freedom.
If you let the tech demons control AI, they will unleash a brave new world in some places and 1984 in others. Thus it's not AI that is "going to take all the jobs", it's the people behind it that will. Rant of the day done. Good morning anon

no, but--i was going to say --"but this is the automation of thinking".
but it actually isn't. i think just as much. i often just can bounce ideas off of AI as well as humans now.
as i see it, it's the granting of big memory to everyone who dares seize it and ask the questions they always wanted to ask.
If anything, it would be the free market of AI that saves us. The release of open source model, from different competing companies (and countries), makes AI strive for truth. Rather than closed down ones with a bunch of restrictions and hidden history…

i think the way you kill a weed is by plucking it out from the ground, by cutting its roots. you'd be surprised to learn you can do that with the help of an AI
