This is not true... Tornado cash had a shitcoin token, they ran a sever that was used for mixing. Writing software and posting on github is very different than running it on a server and knowing it is used for criminals purposes..!

Agree 100% that eCash is in the same category. That is why I am working with Calle to write Auth spec for minting/melting tokens. Why haven't they go after the team/people of Electrum? Electrum is not running any servers nor getting direct monetary benefit from the software. In both Samurai and tornado cash, they monetarily benefited from money moving in their servers. Entire lightning network size is about $400M. So it is small for them now. Once it crosses $1B they will start to go after.

Van Valkenburgh has balanced perspectives, usually. Dutch law seems far looser on criminal intent than US. Respect for the First Amendment and freedom of speech is still strong. But the chilling effect is real. Which is why @Open Source Justice Foundation is starting a Developer Defense Fund.
