I am once again reminding you that you do *not* need to update your Bitcoin node software. I’m not saying you should *never* update it, I’m just saying there’s no reason to rush and you can safely run a few versions behind without issues. Bitcoin node software is backwards compatible.

Find me ONE example of me telling people to run core… Here’s me months ago saying you don’t need to update your node. I’ve said many times that I’m not updating my node. image
I’ve literally never told anyone to run core… I’ve told people for a long time they don’t need to update their node, and I won’t be updating mine anytime soon. Get your facts straight. image
Wow and I had so much confidence in the clowns pushing the new core cause they thought they were the cool kids….. key word being kids….
Every single one of your guests on your podcast regarding this issue has been pro core. How about you bring someone on who might explain why 20% of the network thought it was appropriate to switch flags and demonstrate against Bitcoin core
I also get a lot of XRP army people in my comments telling me that XRP is better than Bitcoin. Turns out a mob of angry YouTube comments is not automatically correct. But that’s beside the point. Did I at any point tell people to run core v30?
Unfortunately all the knots influencers have blocked me so that makes it difficult to reach out… Apparently telling people that I don’t care what node implementation they run, that they don’t need to update their node, and that I personally won’t be updating mine makes me a “bad actor” and a “core apologist.” Truly astounding levels of mental gymnastics.

You had Lopp for a whole episode. Would be fair for your audience to hear the other side of the story, unless you agree with the filters don’t work narrative of course, in which case you could say so. A lot of Bitcoin influencers have been too timid with the shitCore situation.

Peter Todd, NVK, Marty Bent for instance, when are you gonna have guests with other point of views? It’s an important matter.
You think all those people are “spam apologists”? Do you have a criteria for how you classify people this way so I can better understand? Even though I think this topic has been discussed far too much already, I’d be happy to have any of the knots influencers on my show. Unfortunately they’ve all blocked me for saying “run whatever node you want and don’t update it” because apparently that makes me a “spam apologist.”
You “don’t care” about the main developer team behind Bitcoin node software updates going rogue and working against the interests of node runners? That’s some mental gymnastics too.
Your message has been “just don’t update” “it’s not a big deal” So it’s not important to replace people at the Bitcoin core or establish a new reference team for Bitcoin updates. What if Bitcoin needs updates in future? Do we let shitcoiners run Bitcoin core ?

Yeah, we all get too passionate when it comes to Bitcoin. @jimmysong would be a great guest to your show, he’s a principled and spirited debater.
My message has always been “I do not care what node implementation you run, and you don’t have to update it.” Put another way, “if you don’t like Core, run Knots.” How is that a controversial statement? It’s literally what all the knots influencers have been saying. Which core devs need to be “replaced”? All of them? Everyone who has written any code in the last year? The last two years? What’s the criteria for removal? Bitcoin Core is a voluntary, decentralized effort. Who decided who gets replaced? Who decides who is on the new “reference team”? Sounds like you’ll need a centralized team to decide that. Bitcoin obviously needs updates in the future, and maintenance in the interim — (mostly) everyone knows this.
You didn’t answer the question: do you think Peter Todd, NVK, Marty Bent are “spam apologists”? And what is your criteria for determining who is a “spam apologist”?

You’re so close to being a screeching lib that cries about “pLaTfOrMiNg” opinions you don’t agree with…
Bitcoin-core pushed controversial changes in the face of widespread dissent and ongoing debate with the op_return mempool update, and have now DELISTED v30 and 30.1 because of a massive bug that somehow slipped through 2 versions and all the “best” review and testing. If the current 5 Bitcoin-core maintainers don’t voluntarily step down then the uses will have to establish a new reference software for future update testing. My contention in this conversation has been that YOU (as a public Bitcoin influencer) have a responsibility to either have a balanced guest list on your show about this issue, or go back to the previous guests who advocated for Bitcoin-core and confront them on the complete failure to catch this wallet removal bug. If this bug happened with knots, the knots side would never hear the end of it. Yet here, we have excuses and cover immediately deployed just like a fucking government institution. image
Kratter doesn’t do interviews bro. I honestly would like to believe you are still a good actor here. Bitcoin core’s quality has been compromised, the unprecedented delisting of Core v30 proves that all the positives Murch, Lopp, and others claimed about the “decentralized review process” have failed. We can speculate the reasons, but change is required regardless. It’s not about knots, it’s about fixing or replacing the reference software project.

Can you stop bashing germans please? This "crypto" dude is not worth the breath, but maybe don´t piss off germans either?! Thank you

I am painfully aware of it. A blind one is painfully aware of it. And yet the general german population agrees "its all fine" I rather leave, germany is too busy thinking the AfD can still change stuff. You can´t save something that does not want to be safed. And yes, my heart is bleeding but this is realism, not pessimism.
historically Germans have always been an existential threat to my people and many others. Mass murder, rape, incineration, ethnic cleansing, 2 world wars, 100 million+ dead because of "German ideals" in the 20th century alone, and now wokism, perverse immigration and militarization again...will you start a third world war? So please excuse my ultimate disdain for anything German. This should be a lesson to all nations of the world. There are consequences to how your society and government behave throughout history. Better get your act together quick, or else the disgust for your nation will continue as long as is necessary. Japan is even worse, yet they are praised as modern and zen. Pioneers of chemical warfare and fetus dissection, also Nazis. Actually, after WW2, Germany was supposed to be divided up into 12 smaller states, managed by the allies who won the war. One of the allies, the Soviet Union, resisted the idea and settled for it being split into only 2 sates, despite its overall objections. Germany should have never been allowed to continue to exist and never should have been allowed to re-unify. The consequences now are your bleeding hearts and insecurity across the continent. This is realism, not offence.
