Talking about nostr on YouTube and other platforms probably helps spread the word. So I actually think it's a good thing. Also there aren't many people here.

That's a lame excuse. satellite.earth and nostr.build storage is cheap and easy to use. I see what some of our influencers are doing. They stream on the cheapest zapstream plan (their way to support developement). They share their legacy social links here instead of driving their audience to nostr. No they drive nostr users to other platforms. They don't support the developers, they're here to monetarise on the audience just the same as they do on X or other platforms. Hypocrites

Ideally you'd have a scenario of a content creator ending their YouTube video with you can also follow me on nostr, or some such thing.

We're solving that latter problem (self-hosting and file servers being too complicated) at vaporware.network . Early access should be available to people within the year.

Also look at flare's front page, it is pretty much only for nostr people. It's half a page of a bitcoin advert. It's very poor imo

The fiat equivalent of the advanced plan on nostr.build is 250000 sats -> $157 for 100GB of storage. YouTube price: $0 Dropbox price: $120 (20x the storage) pCloud price: $50 (50x the storage) It will take time to convince people to use stuff that is more expensive, less convenient

Is there an alternative for Nostr right now or flare.pub it right now? Besides standard posting videos to notes I mean.

You can use satellite.earth 's CDN then drop the links into your content. Zapstream has clips but no upload feature and not sure if that's coming. But yeah no real clip/videos alternative to flare yet. Afaik
