The four speakers leveled plenty of criticism of the left but not enough critique of the cancel culture in full blossom on the right, as was revealed through this incident. image

A lot of hatred spewed on left for something that was done by extreme right winger. Beauty of nostr is that these hatred fueled notes can't be deleted. @HODL is a RACIST beyond all reasonable doubt. At his core he is rotten. He is going to pass on the same to his children. What a fucking joke that he has followers here. He's just another dumbass entitled white supremacist asshole.
Grief can be processed in many ways. I’m proud of these men for speaking so openly and emotionally, and my interest is always in finding ways to convey these complex emotions and feelings to my kids. @HODL (and every other Dad out there) I recommend you watch this show with your kids when they can understand it. By the end of this #onepiece episode me and my two kids were in tears together. I am crying right now re-watching it. I told them this is how I would prefer to go, if it came down to it. #anime #art #biblestories #herosjourney #fatherhood View quoted note →
Divide and conquer… you forgot to mention potential outside forces that could be behind this… follow the money, follow the incentives.
This is a historical podcast, will truely go down as a top 5 podcast episode of our generation. Museums will honour this in 50 years time, it captures so well the period nearing the bottom of this fourth turning…at least that’s what I hope.

Charlie Kirk was assassinated, as was Melissa Hortman in June, for political reasons. I hope their families stay strong, to inspire us to fight for higher standards, including bringing an end to political violence An interesting discussion in the podcast, I'm listening carefully to each word of this podcast. A few thoughts, before I finish listening to the remainder: Free speech, free assembly, privacy, the right to a fair trial. These are absolute values; you don't believe in free speech unless you defend your enemy's free speech. Political violence is now the norm. If your gut instinct is to hope that your side "wins" in the upcoming battles, then we have already lost. We need to unite behind free speech for everybody. These guys correctly (26m00s) blame much of the media for this. There is a lot of money to be made, by Facebook and others, by highlighting the divisive comments to build up rage and engagement. Unfortunately, some of the guys in this podcast have fallen victim to exactly this media manipulation. They believe paranoid conspiracies that America is divided into exactly two cleanly-defined camps- "the left" and "the right" - and that one of those two sides is a homogeneous entity that is to blame for all these attacks on freedom. They sometimes repeat the same tired talking points that stir division and ultimately cause anger These guys have a platform and a responsibility. Don't fall into the trap of saying this is white-versus-black, or left-versus-right, or is about attacks on the family. Don't repeat the same us-versus-them rhetoric that the media are feeding you, as you are playing into their divide-and-conquer strategy. Too many otherwise-good people have been poisoned by this, and we all need to massively up our game if we're to bring this back. RIP Charlie Kirk and Melissa Hortman, and the many others around the world who have been murdered this year in political violence.
"It's important for people to be able to stand up, make themselves an idiot, and then be ostracized because what they said was fucking stupid. And I welcome that. And we need to welcome that because that's the only way that we're actually going to establish who has logic and who's a fucking moron." - @Erik Cason View quoted note →
“The left and the right have fundamentally completely different views on violence. The left believes that violence is like a volume knob that they can turn up and down… The way the right views violence is it's a switch and it's either off or it's kill everyone.” - @HODL View quoted note →
As a father and someone who is genuinely optimistic of a nonviolent path to a better future because of bitcoin, the last few days have been tough. This podcast is worth a listen regardless of politics and definitely inspired me to keep pushing towards the third way. Ignore the sound bites and listen to the whole thing. View quoted note →

Charlie Kirk, still unreal what happened. I love this country. Of anyone in my lifetime, Charlie understood faith, the Christianity, govt, and freedom more than anyone I know. He was an encyclopedia of knowledge, and the closest thing to a modern founding father’s demeanor. An American hero… 🇺🇸 🙏 View quoted note →
These two comments on the Charlie Kirk episode with @HODL @Erik Cason and @Guy Swann pretty much sum up the state of our country... Both heard the exact same conversation. Person 1: "Unlistenable. Precisely 0 self awareness" Person 2: "Love this podcast, thanks. You are all an inspiration. Rest in Peace Charlie." Now, I assume that since Person 1 said it was "unlistenable" they probably did not make it very far in the conversation, which is a shame. If you are incapable of listening to ideas you disagree with you will never evolve as a person. You will never challenge your preconceived notions. You will shun any idea that makes you feel uncomfortable, but it is discomfort that makes us grow, both physically, mentally and emotionally. If you do not embrace discomfort you will be forever stuck in an ideological bubble of your own making. image View quoted note →

You are talking About two different things. The fact that you think the divide is real, is why this is unlistenable. They want us divided. They want you to be up in arms. You are like a puppet right now. Charlie Kirk wasn't real. Sorry.
Don’t fret there is hope! Hear the Shepards voice He is calling! “The words of the wise are like goads, and like nails firmly fixed are the collected sayings; they are given by one Shepherd. My son, beware of anything beyond these. Of making many books there is no end, and much study is a weariness of the flesh.” ‭‭Ecclesiastes‬ ‭12‬:‭11‬-‭12‬ ‭ESV‬‬
