A bunch that are Twitter style, plus a new crop that are more like Instagram and TikTok.
Are you serious? One of them was briefly higher than the official app in the App Store. Third party PDSs are still a small percentage, but even that is growing. Look, Bluesky has no shortage of faults, decentralization being one of them, but all of the attacks I see here seem to come from pure ignorance.
Not really. Server admins can ban you before you have a chance to migrate your profile and tell your followers that you migrated. It's more distributed I guess?
just read a thread on a big subreddit about this topic. People asking for alternatives, mentioning Mastodon. zero mentions to Nostr. we are so early!
Flashes, I think? I’m just recalling screen shots from a few weeks ago, could definitely be wrong, but there are a few popular alternate clients now.
That seems to be the most popular indeed, but it's not a normal client, it's a niche client that only displays photos and videos apparently (?) by filtering them from the official Bluesky thing, and it has 263 ratings on the App Store. The other one I saw mentioned in multiple places is GraySky, which seems to be a fork of the official client with some modifications, it has 63 ratings.
Zap test on this note… we made six attempts to⚡zap this note, at codecrafter@minibits.cash, over a period of about 2 hours. All six attempts were successful. Please check on your end to be sure you received. Average zap time was 4636ms (4.6 seconds). We consider this zap time slow... generally, zaps should complete in under two seconds. (Other Nostr users might think your zaps are broken, might not zap you again.) If you wanted to speed up your zap confirmations, you could try receiving zaps with a well-connected, cloud-based Lightning node.
