#asknostr Give me your best ideas on discovery, and I might do something about it, no promises though πŸ˜‚ We need to solve this shit.

Nostr suffers terribly by leadership all having gigantic accounts, so that they don't know how dull and lonely and frustrating Nostr can be for the remaining 99,996% of us, down here in the steerage class. Twitter didn't get so big by being 50 Million People Wait for Jack To Post Something

Make a dwell-time algorithmic video app for iOS and Android. Apps like tiktok and reels lean so heavily on ML algorithms that they don't have the moat that was previously made by the social graph. Don't mention nostr, relays, zaps or nsec during sign-up. Just show the best videos you can. I've been trying to vibe code a nostr-native video viewer and already enjoyed having these videos loop. Hitting a wall though just with web and not yet hand coding anything.

I was thinking of a different kind of discovery but short form video apps do this excellently as well, since they surface the content and by extension the creators of content regardless of clout or following.
Tried with Firefox on desktop, and same issue, but I did see the links it was trying to navigate to, and when I open the links myself I can access those pages, the buttons still don't work though.

Currently, I use #Nostr like a search engine. I search for keywords, such as the name of a band, city, or event, and look for notes from other users to interact with. I also follow a couple of hashtags that I'm interested in.
Just have new users start with my profile instead of a feed full of glowies. I use the global feed and don't mute people, so I actually work as a ground 0 to find the rest of nostr from instead of another manipulative scumbag trying to hide important shit from the public.
This is subjective, sure this may be true form you, but I do see value in likes, infact I think that likes are underutilized on nostr, and if utilized well enough they can even my add more value.
We're using likes & reposts to build the spatianostra relay feed. You repost, I like. Boom, it's in the feed for anyone browsing it to see. Jumble has it set as one of the default feeds for new users to browse. If enough people in the voting pool like any one note, it gets displayed in the feed. The like bots will never get into the voting pool because they themselves don't create anything worth enough likes to gain them voting power ot contribution rights. The greatest part is no one owns or controls the feed or the voting process. Anyone with more voting weight now, such as you & I, are mere stewards of the space. Eventually, enough people with similar interests will be driving the feed with their likes. As you know, I'm also very pro-zap. This is just an example of what's possible with different metrics. I particularly think this one has potential because most new users aren't going to be zapping right away, so it's discovery and familiarity in one feed.
Can confirm this works now, it's also far more reliable than what existed last time it's great! Btw built something very similar on pollerama.fun/feeds/topics
