I have noticed that some people that joined a while ago are saddened to see that "interaction farming" on Nostr just isn't a thing. That's because this is not how Nostr works. Sure, you see a Trending tab in Primal and such; and what you see in there are usually devs or very "famous" people. Things don't get pushed around by an algorythmn - "farming" interaction is hard work. Be consistent, be there, and interact yourself. Get your mind out there, and expect things to take a while. Sure, even I do look at my follower count and how my interactions have been - but mainly because I am not "used" to get a lot of it in the first place; I am just a random dude after all :) And yet, seing how some of my posts have landed a lot of them makes me very, very happy. On Nostr, you don't get fame by gaming an algorythmn. Instead, you find loyality by being social, I'd say. Though, admittedly, this is still a rather poor phrasing. Patience is a virtue, after all. :) Thanks to everyone who has interacted with me!

Social media rewards authenticity and people who are not afraid to talk unfiltered. Filtration comes off as fake and our minds subconsciously recognize that. It is not surprising then that people who actually participate and share are the ones who get followed. Overall, it’s all a shitshow. Follower count really doesn’t mean anything. Just be yourself to the best of your ability and enjoy the daily interactions. The hell with counts!

I think I think you are talking not talking about the farming I know.
Any zap makes a difference. It's real, actual value, that someone is willing to give - to me, a dude, that puts text on a server. This will never cease to amaze me.
erI agree with you there. But, truthfuly, I do like a number going up. x) It's nice. Guess it's a bit of an "ungabunga instinct"...? Jokes aside tho. This is very much why I like Nostr so much. Sometimes you scream into the void, sometimes someone replies and you find yourself talking to them for a long while or even find someone who comes back to interact with you from time to time. And sometimes, some crazy shenanigans happen (remember the #beardstr moment? XD). It's honest, and I like that.
It’s not about being famous or a gazillion followers. It’s about developing a core set of people you can get to know and trust. Community is powerful.
The realisation that those who want to reach you probably also want to scam you, has changed my outlook on social media. It's better to follow more average people and have less reach than to have a feed dominated by large accounts.
Get out of mainstream social networks where your mind and life style are a product to the others is the first good thing ! Be free to think and talk without censorship is another good thing also ! The use of NOSTR is something that will disrupt the way the people use social networks, it is just a matter of time! The future will be awesome!
