YouTube is going to use AI to guess your age to determine if the content you're watching is appropriate for you. "YouTube’s AI will assess a user’s age via multiple behavioral factors, including what kind of videos the user searches for, the categories of videos they watch, and how long the account has been active."

They could just add better parental controls … like allowing to white list channels and blocking everything else

If I were a kid I’d start clicking on all the pharmaceutical ads, they’d assume I was 75 😂
Which is why I'm confused because they already have parental controls and YouTube kids. One would think a small modification or addition to that software would be the way to go. But, we are in the AI age of things.

All they literally need is channel white listing and auto blocking the rest of the website - per account not per device

This is likely a push for families to have a paid account for every member …
Its relative easily understood once you factor in that the age verification BS is not implemented to better control the kids, its for the adults - aka the state owned flock.

Just watch a bunch of advanced math and science videos and you're good :)
It's western governments pushing this. YouTube don't really have a choice. If UK Australia Canada and USA all banned YouTube then YouTube probably wouldn't be able to operate at all.
My former editor and I told them to flip off, by rightfully declaring that both of us are over 18, and that he even talked about it when he wrote the description for one of my older videos.

“Please stop watching baby shark we know you’re too old for that.”
If you think they will stop at this, I want what you are smoking.
