If nostr clients start having "blocks" like the racist glowie @fiatjaf suggested yesterday, we have 2 options:
1. A different decentralized social network that isn't nostr
2. A nostr client that permanently filters all blocking npubs, all notes with client tags from blocking clients, and temporarily (e.g. 30 day) filters any npub that reposts a blocking npub

It would be really helpful if the same client also had a human-tag web-of-trust to filter bots

This is easy to solve, but my best guess is people aren't going to listen to me (they basically never do), and nostr will successfully serve as a psy op to further the normalization of censorship

If you want to prevent nostr from successfully serving as a psy op to further the normalization of censorship, join me in trying to counter-filter the people responsible for the bullshit.

If you want me to watch your video, make a post promoting the "2 options" I mention here and the human-tag web-of-trust idea I mentioned in my self-reply. Tag me in it (because my npub is so heavily filtered, a repost or quote post is less effective than this)

Useless. What we need is a cluster of users (with at least 1 dev) that actually care about free speech, not just larping about it.

If Nostr clients add blocks, literally just use a different client that doesn't respect blocks.
The only way to *actually* block someone on nostr is to only use private relays that can deny read access to your "block" list.
I don't think that's enough, I think we should make it backfire with a client that blocks the blockers.
I think the only thing they fear more than losing their authority-controlled echo chambers, is letting smart people make our own freedom-based echo chamber of smart people. The authorities cannot handle a world where smart, honest people can just spend all day finding other smart, honest people to discuss everything with, without being interrupted.
Hmm. Have you tried this app on github for NOSTR called 'Voyage' ? Also, why do you want to block so many ppl ?
Haven't tried Voyage
If we had a cluster of users on an app that blocks blockers and blocker-supporters and bots, you could go all day finding almost nothing but smart honest people that care about free speech, discussing every topic and not being interrupted by disingenuous shit
Nobody but me reposting this, good sign we're fucked and nostr will successfully serve as another psy op that normalizes censorship and fragmented discussion

That would be the funniest solution blocking the blockers.
It makes more sense than anyone is recognizing.
They want to control what a large number of people have hidden from them on their screens. I only want to control what's hidden from me on my screen. Most of all, it would be amazingly comfy to hide everything from people that want to control what a large number of people have hidden from them.
