BREAKING: @Ledger is offering an ID-based key recovery ‚service‘ that provides custodial backup of your Recovery Phrase including a submission of your ID. WTF are you doing @Ledger? Folks NEVER EVER let a 3rd party store your privat key. And don’t use #LEDGER overall.

My 2 cents: #1. Coldcard (by far best) #2. Trezor T Bitcoin only fw Ledger is for "crypto bros" who don't care/know about open source.

Indeed, and Trezor has used an optional multisig seed phrase approach to address this threat model. Ledger went with a centralised KYC system. Tells me a lot about each company and their values.
