I will politely disagree. Jack is a flaming turd and respecting his opinion on anything after his constant failures of getting the point of anything is more than a little ridiculous. Nostr is extremely simple and that makes it flexible and powerful. It also makes it dangerous if you use it ignorantly. Look at what is happening in the EU. They have pushed the first huge step into forcing everyone online to use a centralized digital ID. Now think about some edgy teen that finds nostr through bitchat or divine. They now have a access to all of nostr, which is NOT a safe/good/wholesome place in it's entirety. In the overly litigious EU, someone can click one thing in ignorance and then get locked up because of guilt by association. This is even worse if a person starts zapping and runs afoul of money transmission laws and all the evidence is immutably public and tied to their real identity via their phone or computers. Not knowing that nostr underpins an app is an exceptionally huge liability, IMO. We have recent events to point our that many (most?) Nostr devs are building nostr things on top of big tech platforms (Cloudflare, AWS, various closed source LLMs), which is so anathema to everything that nostr can and should be. Couple surveillance big tech with an immutable ID tied to hardware that you own and are being tracked by 24/7 and you have a HUGE EFFING ISSUE. Ignorance is not bliss of it ends up with you on jail or worse. Not knowing what tech stack runs the apps/clients/services you run IS a person's own fault. None of this matters until it does, and when it does, it will matter very, very bigly. This is my surest prognostrcation.

No. I love TNP more than most. I'm very bullish on it. What I am not jazzed about is the idiotic thinking that not telling people you have a cryptographically immutable digital identity that can and probably will be tied to your real identity if you aren't aware and able to separate the two is a good thing. This undermines informed consent. I'm entirely uncool with that. Nostr sucks for a bunch of reasons and only one of them is that your skitzo posts can get you hemmed up by your gubment. Nostr is awesome for a lot of reasons, not the least of which is that no one can take your skitzo notes away from you as long as you have your private key, and even then nostr can essentially be forever. You must choose. But you can only make the choice if you have at least some basic idea of how things work here.

I respect your premise. I also disagree with it. I think, as a user, being ignorant to the underlying tech is a blessing in disguise. Because you can have plausible deniability. As for all your other points, you are right, but… What cannot be achieved completely, should not be abandoned completely. Everyone here try their best.

Yeah, the mental jump is seeing nostr as sockets and keys, not a feed. Apps become views on the same graph. UX that surfaces relay and key choices could nudge ppl there.
