I love Alan Watts, he said many great things, including the above. Unfortunately, money IS an object, not necessarily an objective and without a sufficient amount of it, you're fucked. Only with a sufficient amount of money can you then realistically do what he espouses in that video.
“Until one is committed, there is hesitancy, the chance to draw back — concerning all acts of initiative (and creation), there is one elementary truth that ignorance of which kills countless ideas and splendid plans: that the moment one definitely commits oneself, then Providence moves too. All sorts of things occur to help one that would never otherwise have occurred. A whole stream of events issues from the decision, raising in one’s favor all manner of unforeseen incidents and meetings and material assistance, which no man could have dreamed would have come his way. Whatever you can do, or dream you can do, begin it. Boldness has genius, power, and magic in it. Begin it now.“ 🧡
If money is no longer important in life then we go back to our childhood, live in the present moment, ask curious questions, talk without any agendas, be amazed by nature and its beauty, and try to master without any frustration and competition. If money was no object, then we would act purely and start spreading love. Like a father and mother: Fathers do think for kids without any self-interest. Mothers love kids without expecting anything in return.
He's not saying that it isn't an object. He's saying "what if" to force you to arrive at a conclusion, and work backwards from there.
...and almost never asked by parents, teachers; or anyone, really.
That's as maybe but you'd still need sufficient money to work backwards and arrive at that conclusion. I enjoy producing Techno but I can't just quit my full time job in order to do that (Much as I'd like to!).
Not at all, a couple of thousand probably do. It's just not feasible for me. I can have that as my "ideal", which is maybe what he's saying in the video but I don't see it as being feasible.
Ah, the privilege if living in the western world, where this question can even be imagined and contemplated.
Thanks Gigi, for again sharing such important thoughts. I think, what I desire the most, is to be an host. It sounds vague, but I love to receive friends, family, strangers into the place that I call home and take care of them. Sharing food, thoughts and warmth 🧡

I’ve thought about this. I think we become hyper specialized for the betterment of all humanity

You not seeing it as feasible makes that true for you, not meant as a dig, but small setbacks will confirm you are “right” sabotaging your potential. Speaking from experience working my 9-5 grind for 30 years with a music “hobby” 😀
I think Gigi is trying to tell you that the thing you think is impossible, is actually possible if apply yourself to your interest. It isn't that you can't, just that you won't, until you decide that you can.

A concrete law of this simulation…. The Universe rewards bravery. 🙏🏻👊😉
My feelings are all humans have resources. Time, money or knowledge are some. When lacking one I’ve sought to increase the others. By doing so, I now have some of each. Using each lovingly to make the world better is different for everyone. My hope is by giving resources to others it will help the world. Money isn’t real. Only love is. Not arrogant or selfish enough to believe that whatever “extras” I have are to be saved for myself & immediate family. World is hurting & we try to help others. There is enough to go around. My children understand that. There is no point in having anything if we don’t use it to benefit as many people as possible. Love truly is the answer to every question. This will ultimately be proven. Maybe not in my lifetime but eventually. 💜🫂🥰😊🧡

I'm pretty sure I've inculcated this into my three sons.
