if someone runs a mint but their computer running the mint gets destroyed, what happens to the bitcoin inside, is it retrievable or am I thinking about this totally wrong?

Really great episode Calle, thanks for all your work.
Really interesting indeed, the carbon paper / enveloppe analogy is great to grasp a how it is done, and the privacy improvement including what ecash allows in term of atomic multipath payment from multiple mints is quite interesting. How I see it for Bitcoiners in the future: -savings+ big tx (real estate, big purchases in general)--> Bitcoin - day to day payments --> hybrid wallets : self custodial LN (with LSP or not) coupled with an ecash wallet. The self custodial Wallet could top up the ecash wallet at will, allowing better privacy to send from many mints and asynchronous payment if no satisfying solution is found by then.

Some things started clicking. The idea of using multiple mints to pay a LN invoice would be amazing. Still, I'm cautious sending my sats to a mint. Might let it play out for some time first. Also, mints settling with other mints without Bitcoin I can't accept.
i could see it being used for better asynch payments but isn’t the privacy on lightning already pretty good?
This was very good and cheese. I will listen again just to make sure I don't forget anything.

Great episode, thank you. @calle, what do you mean by saying 'Coinbase is the scaling solution for Bitcoin'?
