it's not entirely wrong. just go read up on the history of the leadup to hitler's takeover. there was plenty of shrieking about the end of democracy then. didn't work then, won't work now.

invoking "literally hitler" is a sledgehammer that will knock most of the ears out of the conversation. pointing to the history of eugenics will both educate and not set off landmines, since "landmines" has now entered the chat.
But I am not making a democracy argument here just pointing out similarity in tactics when it comes to a specific issue. Hyperbolic? Perhaps, land mine exploding? No 🤠
