100%… but also you may need to follow some more people. I’m just glad Nostr exists. Digital ID etc may shift another tide towards it. For the time being I just find I have more fun here.
It’s fine but after a month or two there’s not much here for me sadly. The creators could do a lot but the want to innovate it so it’s used more widely (and not just niche privacy circles) doesn’t seem there.
I hear you. The adoption just isn’t there yet at all. Private key to your followers and data is rad. If it ever scales up the micro-payments/‘zaps’ thing is going to be an absolute game-changer though; for direct creator support and peer-to-peer advertising with no middleman. I suspect we’re still talking 5 or 10 years if ever though… most people don’t even understand Bitcoin and Lightning yet.
The topic shifts on nostr from week to week in my experience. I rarely see nostr talk other than software devs talking about what they are doing. My feed is bitcoin heavy, but only about 20%. The other 80% is anarchism, sovereign living, personal commentary, philosophy/metaphysics, politics and general news. It pretty much keeps my funnel full. If you're trying to follow "important people"/normie-intellectuals, you're on nostr way too early for that, though we will take all we can get to build the network effect.
Follow more people and read the comments and follow the people you like there. Also follow hashtags of things you want to see to find the people who like what you like and talk about those things.
We have zombie survival games, live music, music radio, first person shooters, baseball card breakers
