Energy prices spiking, driving costs up, destroying demand, and probably having a net reduction in GDP. Might drive us closer to the money printer though.
Probably means more money going from China to Russia too though, as someone's gotta fill in the gap.
Also, saw on twitter that Lloyds is canceling a lot of policies they have insuring a lot of these large ocean-faring ships. Seems to play into Tom Luongo's theorizing about this having more to do with London than would seem otherwise apparent.
May also be a nice time for the gold crowd to remember that moving large amounts of really high value metal around the planet isn't actually trivial (though arguably, it probably makes more sense to fly it than ship it, as Saifedean recognizes in The Gold Standard).
