Here's the thing. If you don't bring up monero, then the monero zaps go away. I got some the day I set it up, and them never again. You're getting them because you're bringing it up.
Whoever called it worthless hasn't looked at how it works. Monero hides the sender, receiver, and amount of every transaction by default, something Bitcoin doesn't do. Open the wallet and check the balance before writing it off.
I understand why people who would never dare use liquid or Cashu would turn their nose up at XMR.
Not quite sure why people into custody and shitcoins otherwise though take issue with it.
It's definitely less of a shitcoin than LBTC, if that's saying anything (it's not though).
💯 It would make a use case like Nostr payment targets more streamlined. I hadn’t used Cake wallet prior to the last couple weeks because I’d never used anything other than bitcoin, lol. But if people want to send a tip/payment using whatever coin they have, an auto swap into sats would be perfect.
Makes sense. Nostr is still dominated by Bitcoin users mostly. Can't beat the proliferation and speed of lightning either. 10-block lock also prevents back to back Monero tips most of the time. Not as great for zap use case.
Autoswaps are a bad idea. Creating a clear correlation between txs.
Automatic swap data from timing and matching amounts would destroy a lot of privacy.
