I'm a gamer and am writing a long ass article which I will post on Nostr. It's about the most life-changing game I ever experienced and about meaningful games in general. It will be a while before it's finished though.

We need more! #gamestr
VTOL VR's Homesick mission is miserable. "Oh no! ... This is going to have lasting consequences."
Replaying Shining Force II right now with the Maeson mod to balance out some characters and the Magic system
yeh RPGs are fun but I cant afford to sink so much time into them anymore also FTL is amazing, such an underrated game
Ask more, man. I have a Japanese Sega Saturn with a bunch of games. Marvel x Street Fighter like on the arcades (Ryu flying 50 meters high, 😂). An European Nintendo Wii retrocompatible with Game Cube, therefore I have Craaaaazy Taxi from GC (it’s like on DreamCast, and then it’s perfect). I have a PS4, a Nintendo Switch and a Xbox Series S, planning migrate to Xbox Series X to take advantage of the retrocompatibility.
I am a fan of GTA. Knew the IV map better than my own hometown. V’s larger map and decade long online saga is fantastic. Naturally am excited for VI but also skeptical whether it is “allowed” to be even better than its predecessors
120 hrs for 1 playthrough. And I agree with you. This game is like watching a 4D series that can interact with the story and this interacting is more than I can imagine. (Luckily, I get Jaheira at 1st play 😆) I start a new one and now still in Act1.5 (Act 1 gonna move to Act 2) with 40 hrs ... 💀
recently played civ 6. This game make me sleepless for almost a month lol, but this game is fuking gud btw. Also I play some gacha game like genshin, gfl but often played cuz I dont wanna see gacha ads , get distracted, and waste my money to that non-fukable things like that
GTA V online is also fun aside the main game, spend time minting money from drug dealer, and deal with GOD in public server lol.

Civ is the greatest! The greatest at time warping you 8 hours into the future as you look around and say wtf just happened. Then you say to yourself… just one more turn

cod is good after market closes. But annoying sometimes when up against some try-hard schoolers, reflexes not that fast as in old cs days, lol.
Skyrim... but Morrowind!! 😆 MMOs are pretty much all garbage anymore. Too much focus on vertical progression and monetization. Elder Scrolls Online is the only one I can still play and enjoy - you can just stop and start, with long periods in between, and not get left behind by the player base.
da faq.. are *you* serious? Where's your zap.stream profile? It's like the twitch of nostr for now... That's where most gamers on nostr congregate but the numbers are still low. But to think there are none?!? All me and a few lads do here is play games 24/7. PC, Console, Retro, Streaming, Supporting... dunno where you've been dude xD I play every genre pretty much. I have way too much time.
Hate to say it but pc master race meme exists for a reason. But yeah calling you an idiot is a bit strong 😂
Love em all 😅 But to me nothing beats Quake multiplayer. Anything iD Software produces is pretty much the bar to me.
Very cool... I have played half of them and Talos changed me too... Can see you come from I guess singleplayer gaming being your life changing catalyst? Mine actually came from multiplayer gaming I guess so can't wait to read about your journey.

Yeah the right thumb is fucked worse than the left, and I have to use the mouse left handed and cannot hit the space with my right thumb. Enjoy those games while you’re still able. Monster Hunter, Hades and ARAM LoL did the most damage
dang 😕 sorry to hear ! I can imagine LoL doing heaps to RSI around the world. There are some kinda cool accessories I know Microsoft makes to make gaming more accessible through alternative control setups
Correct, it's all about the single player experiences for me, though I did play many multiplayer games in my teens. But I found them to be mere entertainment at best, and generally a waste of time. It seems you had a very different experience so I'm interested to hear more if you feel like writing about it.

I’m good. I’ve been playing games for 35+ years and was starting to fade off due to lack of incentives. The thumbs are a bummer, but I see it as a blessing.
Yeah sure! I'll try to do the tldr; as I could probably rant for hours. Got into multiplayer gaming over null modem cables and IPX networking with Coaxial and that. Sometime when Ultima Online (the first real mmo I guess) appeared, I had dial-up and that just transformed my entire vision of the internet and it's potential. Kinda like discovering Nostr isn't just one site, but potentially thousands if not millions. I realized that gaming could enter his sphere too with ease with accessibility being open to everyone, this truly culminated in the year iD software released the shareware Quake demo. Even though I was hitting like 400-500ms (I consider anything above 30 to be noticeable and laggy!), it was so groundbreaking at the time to be loosely connected albeit virtually to people all around the globe. Fast forward 10-15 years and I started getting my certifications in IT industries. ALL of them came with great ease to achieve and I was even approached to become a teacher even though I was in my junior year. All this from playing online games and also going to LAN parties a shit ton. These days though there is no emphasis on users running their own servers on dedicated hardware or even their own. It's all centralized and sadly creates for a subpar gaming experience in my eyes when it comes to latency and network/latency stability. Besides the learning experience on the IT side, I also did play for the best Team Fortress and also Quake clan in Australia and that was a fair achievement for me at the time and I still cling onto it deeply. Sad thing was I met and trusted a few clan members and they turned out to be total douches not to be trusted. However made countless other friends so they're merely dust in the wind in the big picture. I guess multiplayer gaming grew my social circle, allowed me to speak my mind in a place where that was frowned upon in school or home, and really gave me a place to belong. It was also a source for me discovering music and other underground scenes which I am forever grateful for finding out about! Thanks for reading if you got this far 😅
Oh we're here 🤙 What's your favorite game of all time and what are you currently playing? Also: There's even a dedicated #Runescape #Ironman account on nostr: @RSN: Tisza
Nah thank you for writing this, I hadn't even considered the possibility that multiplayer games could potentially have a positive outcome. Usually you only hear the bad side of it and for me personally it indeed was like that; A waste of time and a severe addiction, jumping from game to game after reaching max level and best gear etc. I might include your statement as an exception to the rule if that's alright with you, but I'm not sure yet, the article is 15000 characters atm and I'm just getting started. I'll let you know!
