Is she pretty much saying I don't know the "Truth"? I feel like shes trying to confuse me. Am I missing something?
Lol... What she's describing is classical psychopathic, sociopathic thinking. Where the truth is relative to what you can get away with. Like the #ordinals crowd in #Bitcoin. What she's describing is the way an intelligent animal thinks and reasons. Not the way a human being thinks. But someday hopefully, they'll become human beings lol..👺👹😏🧡
These are the same people who think spreading 'misinformation' is a terrible crime. It's literally 'you must follow the narrative I'm giving you, or else'

I think she’s right. But she’s making a good argument for Wikifreedia, not Wikipedia. Wikifreedia allows for my truth and your truth.
Prediction markets might also help, a la truthcoin, by rewarding those who make the best guess. @nobody Wikifreedia or wikipedia, or any central repository both suffer from similar limitations for the user in determining truth.
Sooo…let me see if I get this🤔…if uv got a pretty face and a great figure with a singsong voice u can jus say whatever stupid sh*t u want and we’re spose to pick up what u throwin down…ok got it🤯🌅
Changing the definition of "truth" to be anything OTHER than synonymous with "fact" is bullshit. the temperature at which pure H2O freezes is a fact and that fact is the truth of the situation. the rub, though, is that at when you move up a few levels of abstraction and complexity from "water's freezing point", the truth of a given situation is so incomprehensibly complex (due to many many many simple facts all interacting) that it's essentially impossible to capture in a reasonable representation. that does NOT, however, mean that "different people can have different truths" - there is only ever one truth and it does not play nicely with impostors. it just means that at the level of abstraction where one might want to use that awful phrase, what you're actually dealing with is *interpretation* of a complex system of facts. and opinions. and sorry, but they're _all_ wrong - with some being much wronger than others (capturing fewer facts accurately, or inaccurately interpreting more facts). (case in point: try having "your truth" (different than mine - the correct one, reading from the chain) for a Bitcoin transaction and see if it makes you richer. we might have different _opinions_ about the way the transaction interacts with the complex world around it, but not about the incontrovertible fact of which sats went where.) ...all that said, subjectivity, freedom and private property are the greatest rights and thus everyone should be able to freely associate along the lines of shared opinion and interpretation, no matter how wrong they are (wikifreedia, webs of trust, peer to peer, etc). and they should do that by using tools that operate at the level of fact (cryptography, functional programming, blockhains, etc.) #voluntaryism #anarchy #WoT #freespeech View quoted note →

Wikipedia gets co-opted into narratives pushed by people with more time, energy, and money than anyone and that's what gets declared as the truth.
This is the reasoning #AIDS invested #faggot's and #pedophiles use to rationalize and convince you to let them fuck you up the #ass..💩🍆💀🤣
This is what people tell themselves when their tribal narrative is demanding them to internalize some piece of tribal toxic fiction. Something they know, at some level, to be delusional and / or hypocritical. And they will tell you that YOU’RE being “offensive” if you refuse to accept their delusion on the grounds that it is objectively false. Unfortunately, this train of thought runs strong in academia today. We must be on our guard.
I think the silence on the topic tells us a lot as the signal CEO has opinions on many tech, privacy, censorship things: google employees protesting google’s military israel ties, tiktok and the dc swamp reaction, and “censorship” - see post below. View quoted note → I hope and will be happy if the CEO of Signal @Meredith Whittaker can right the record of a censorship maxi chair of Signal’s board. Conversely self-censorship on the topic will speak even more loudly.
It’s probably worth reflecting that a dedication to freedom technology does nothing to change our basic tribal instincts. There are threats to freedom from the political left and threats to freedom from the political right. Our tribal nature means most of us tend to be relatively hypersensitive to the transgressions on one side, while relatively inattentive to the transgressions of the other. The problem with KM is that she’s explicitly advocating that we give the tribal mindset free reign to control our understanding of the world, which is a recipe for disaster. The question is whether we let the tribal mentality take over or whether we strive to keep it in check.
The tribal mindset (I sometimes call it the “social” mindset) is like the immune system: it serves a purpose, and we cannot survive without it. Claiming you’re not at all tribal is like claiming you don’t have an immune system. You’re incorrect, and it would be really bad if you were correct. But it needs to be kept in check. If you put it in charge and let it run amuck, very bad things happen. Like the Chinese cultural revolution, just to name one example.
I’d like to hear her thoughts. Like whether she agrees with KM that dedication to “your truth” should take precedence over objective reality.

Pretty much works for most of these types of heads (“The truth isn't important. Wordsalad is important.”)
I mean, it's a very good guess "wordsalad sprinkled with deeply disturbing Joker-like laughter"
She is somehow so close yet so far... there is but two sets: those things that are true and those things that are not. She doesn't get how important truth is. The common ground we must have is the desire for truth, goodness, beauty, and unity. Sacrificing truth for a false sense of unity forfeits both. Being unnecessarily harsh with truth is actually just using true things as a weapon against the other and is not actually honesty, but just because someone can use something incorrectly doesn't make the thing itself less than good, useful, or true.
this style of delivery makes me want to 🤮 "i am very clever and kind, have all the insights and am definitely not going to try to gaslight you" also, she's not actually saying anything 😆
It's their only way to protect against sybils. Like every other internet service. Either they do phones directly or they require email addresses that come from reputable providers that then require your phone number.

Is anyone actually surprised that as society becomes hyper feminized, freedom, truth, facts, logic take a back seat to safety, feelings, empathy, “emotional intelligence”?
