Vic it's always Vic lol. We need a new federal referendum to amend the constitution to add freedom of speech. No more door knocks from the 🐷 if you question the next pandemic
as it was, i spent most of the lockdown period in bulgaria where enforcement was practically nonexistent and the people were all skeptical and many understood it was just a marketing campaign for poisonoous garbage.
Fuck that. We'll make our own nostr devs and bitcoin groups. Australia is commie but who else but US is going to flip the narrative?! Melbourne was the most locked down city in the world during Covid, if anything we NEED sanity here and Nostr brings it...
Salt in the wound shortly thereafter that the gov disavowed Assange as a citizen to roll over on its back like a weak dog to the UK/US.
The ACT voted Yes to the commie backdoor in the constitution so don’t forget to apportion their share of the blame. The Federal Gov is extremely commie. We need our guns back. That will deter the door knocks more than a piece of paper
Yeah I wasnt a fan on 6 forced lock ins, the beating up of the elderly, protestors being rushed by police... But this nation needs freedom, bigtime. I'm not 100% advocating for a Nostralia but I am advocating thag this country needs to WAKE UP!
I can’t argue against that. I’m in QLD, which was slightly less Nazi than Victoria and NSW… AND WA! And the NT… Tbh, it was pretty shit, but to hold a Nostr event, I think we’re ok. 🙏🏻
These flamin dingos don't know a thing about down under. Throw another shrimp on the Barbie & grab me another Foster's ya dopey bastard.
Lockdowns, coerced "vaccinations", turning neighbors against each other, destroying families, and 80% of people being on the government's side and learning nothing from the whole experience. But that's not even the worst part. At the federal level, they locked people in the country and wouldn't let them leave for 2 years. I have friends who's lives have been totally destroyed by the Australian regime because they made the mistake of going back to visit family for a week and were prevented from leaving the country. The regime and the people can never be trusted again after that, especially since no one has learned anything from it and no one has been held to account.
Paragraph 1. Yep ☹️ Paragraph 2. Yep ☹️ Paragraph 3a. No NEVER 😡 Paragraph 3b…. Yet! 😏 There’s still hope mate. 🙏🏻🙂
I reckon past decisions re convid are currently being looked at more and more each day and the grubs will be held to account. Hence Andrew’s and Adearn (Nz) bailing. And the NT minister. 🤷🏻‍♂️
We need to be looking up and moving forward, the past is the past and we got to see exactly where everyone stands on freedom over the past few years
After our efforts during covid I’d absolutely have to agree that Australia 🇦🇺 is a commie shit hole 🕳️🧡
People would move on if there was real accountability and until there is the spectre remains. Personally I think we need to bring back the guillotine, but I’d settle for life in max security prison. And not just 1 or 2 mid-level bureaucrats - EVERY FUCKING ONE OF THEM. From the PM down to the Premiers down to the bootlickers in State Health Departments, the Cops, the Scientists, the Media, the lying cunts at the TGA, AHPRA, Nurses Unions, Teachers Unions, the paid social media bots - there would be 25,000+ people in this country who need to face justice for the shit that they did. The only thing that has been learned is what level of tyranny Australians will put up with the next time these bastards want to control people. There have been zero lessons in good governance, in handling online discourse, in policing, in public health policy, in education etc. - none of them have improved an iota and have all to varying degrees gone backwards during and since Covid. That’s what we can change. Putting every one of them in front of a jury of their peers, giving a full accounting of what these people did, and then holding them fully accountable for their actions. No more of this “we didn’t know at the time” or “I was just following orders” horseshit, no more excuses, consequences. Without consequences this will merely be a small first step for worse action in future, such is the nature of power.
Agreed 100% Marie. Yes a lot of things happened here during covid that shouldn’t have happened and I totally understand why some people hold the views they do. But it isn’t constructive to be bitter and complain about it. Take the lessons learned and make positive changes in your own life where you can. Change starts at an individual level. We need to move on.
That isn't the only thing people are worried about though. Having your electronic devices searched at customs is another real and present threat, especially for a community like nostr and Bitcoin. People are regularly pulled aside and forced to provide passwords and decryption keys to be allowed to enter the country, it's why I don't bring my usual dev machine with me when I go back to visit fam. https://www.reddit.com/r/AskNetsec/comments/ejbaaz/had_my_phone_searched_by_customs_how_can_i_see/
Maybe I’m not as suspicious as a lot of people out there. I have a healthy skepticism about some things but I’m certainly not a conspiracy theorist. Maybe I’m naive but I also don’t want to stress myself to the point of frustration and rage at situations like covid and the subsequent lockdowns etc. I’m also realistic enough to know that I don’t know enough about the intricacies of managing a pandemic or governmental policies and that I personally couldn’t have taken a responsibility like that. Life is too short to hold so much anger. I feel like the Premier in WA did what he could in an unprecedented situation. There was never going to be a solution that kept everyone happy. I didn’t get to see my family in Ireland for nearly 6 years because of the pandemic and state lockdown and the fact that my savings and holidays were used up during that time. It was shit but it’s all relative right? I’m healthy, my family are healthy, I just didn’t get to see them for a longer time than expected. I focused on the things that I could improve within the constraints. My cooking. My garden. My skills. My Australian family and friends. And ultimately I feel like a happier person than some who are holding a grudge about something they can’t change. Just my two cents.
Got a good point here... the draconians have too much sway. Leaving Melbourne for Tokyo was hell. Arriving in Tokyo from Melbourne was the polar opposite.
Thank you Queen ₿… I think life is certainly too short to hold so much “hate” 🙏🏻 Anger needs to be directed where it belongs. I couldn’t (chose) at the time, attend my mums funeral due the Convid bullshit… That’s where my anger lies. But we Must move on. 🙏🏻🙏🏻
I can certainly understand your anger and frustration at that and I don’t know how I would deal with it if I were in a similar situation. I’m so sorry to hear of your Mum passing and that you weren’t able to be at her funeral. Processing that will come in time. 💜
I would have thought arriving anywhere after Melbourne would have been a delight... Jokes aside, what happened?

Pendulum will swing back. Communism is too expensive. People will vote in their self interest, like they always do, when it becomes too obvious to ignore.

Well it takes a while for people to realize you can’t get unicorn farts and fairy dust for free, like they have been told for eight years. You can save the environment and have more money in your pocket. We can pay for you to stay home and not work. We can borrow more because we have a good rating form an agency we pay for a good testing. And on and on.
I’d be curious to ask this to a hundred people at random. If they think the government will save them. I think I won’t like the result
Im with you. Ill take 90 days in a cell over being fucking searched like this. I'm already not a white man. I get body searched by customs with men 8ft tall.
Over 240 million calls for police each year in the US alone.. you definitely will not like the answers.

They will. They have to.
