Hopefully you can barely see the mistake on the thumbnail lol. I need a new laptop. It's not my fault. Was a real wrestle with technology.
This is a real mixtape of exactly what it says it is. My laptop is not very good and I made little mistake on the image. Which I'm hoping no one can see. It just takes way way too long to render video for me to do it again. It is not a big deal. I just keep staring at it.
In music that's got no lyrics, is the Christian label chosen by artists to represent style only, or is it safe to say they're Christian religion too? Is this a big sub genre, or just something you and like one other person are into?
I've taken some liberties in calling things "Christian ambient" or whatever it is, I suppose. it's not really a genre no, on the whole. although there is quite a lot of Christian dungeon synth, there's a label called militant liturgy which specialises in Christian stuff, mostly noise and drone. But i've been very loose with my selection, and I didn't really feel like being too restrictive and the mixtape title is sort of tongue in cheek and a bit of a pun on the aphex twin record lol. but it really does vary some artists do seem to being making a point of it, there are records which people make to read holy books to for example, and then there are artist who say they are Christian but it's not that obvious but elements are clearly there, and there are some artists who say or said they are Christian, but aren't explicitly making "Christian music". But yeah, is Christian music a preaching music, a devotional music, music that happens to be made by a Christian? I'll basically say yes to everything and throw all of these into the mix tbh. Not sure I have to worry about people getting annoyed as I have no reach lol. And it's more fun this way.
also it's mostly preference, I don't really include too much "preaching" music, a significant amount of Christian Music (the genre tends to be called Contemporary Christian Music / CCM) I've found is actually for a Christian audience anyway, so there's not the preaching angle. But maybe i just find what suits my taste more lol
I sorta get it. Though I have never dug into it, I suspect I'd like any decent Gregorian chant influenced music. Now that I think about it, there's a whole chunk of house that's arguably gospel house 🤔
